It must be because I'm on your "ignore" list. I mean really, if you weren't ROFL at my comment in the "Bitter Fruits" thread, then you're just beyond hope.

As for becoming more like DP, Nehor or Cinepro, I would first suggest a Star-Wars themed avatar (which DP had until he changed it). The rest is easy.

But from what I can tell Asbestosman, you haven't gotten "dumber". You've been posting for years, so your interests and passions change, and hopefully you see things a little differently than you used to. Just keep doing what you're doing, like we all do until we piss off a moderator and get banned.

All my posts at MAD are "old" posts now

Hey! No kidding? I was into that too. I discovered some weird things.

One was about deriving the modes by a group theory principal that made them show up in order from brightest to darkest (lydian to locrian).

Another was a thing about the symmetry of dimminished seventh chords and how breaking the symmetry gives inversions of dominant seventh chords and so on.

I also dicovered a mapping of tonal music onto a torus.

Have you heard of Hugo Riemann's theories?

How about David Lewin? He used what I think we call torsors in mathematics.

No, I haven't heard of those things. I'll ceratainly have to look them up. Keep in mind, though, that my background in music is quite basic--I never learned to play an instrument and I can only barely read music (although I'm trying to learn a bit of piano).

The book I'm reading was by Dave Benson and free online at: http://www.maths.abdn.ac.uk/~bensondj/h ... music.html

I'm skipping around a bit. I'm currently reading more about scales and temperaments but also occaionally read a bit about symmetry.

You're not on my ignore list. I just don't recall reading anything you wrote on MAD. I recall you being upset about something that deals with your wife and child on here... and me getting antsy with Wade and making a thread that dealt with a really cool fringe religious group called the zapzoids. I do like your avatar, though. I also read a quote of yours in beastie's sig line. I did notice that!

I won't be reading the bitter fruits thread because I'd have to go into terrestrial and I prefer outerdarkness or off-topic. I'll take your word for it.

Since I'm saying what I think of everyone I'll continue. :)

Zack, witty, sensitive, sometimes bitter, loving, enjoys other people being happy often at own expense -- waiting to release who you are when you're no longer fearful of being yourself and allowing some people to dislike you.

Seven, not read that much by you, yet, you seem genuine and intelligent.

Tarski, incredibly sensitive, intelligent, poetic, artistic, has difficulty admitting fault, yet, strives to correct it nonetheless, funny in an off-beat way.

Extremely loyal. Dives in with both feet. Gutsy. Sometimes wrong, I think. Often believes you know more than you do, yet, willing to go to bat for what you believe in or where you see injustice. Willing to go the extra mile and dig in for friends/allies or where you think you're needed. Intelligent. And of course you enjoy banter.

Saved for later. That's not going in the delete bin.

Basically that's me though.
