A Jersey Boy steps up to the plate

Post by _Jersey Girl »

I just have to post this because like many other restaurants nationwide, one of my favorite Jersey Boys is also stepping up to the plate to provide relief to furloughed federal workers in his own restaurant which is a kind of community service project and outreach program.

Jon Bon Jovi's Soul Kitchen is located in Red Bank, New Jersey. (About a 10 minute drive from where I grew up.) They provide free meals to the community in exchange for helping out if one is able. You could say that they would have provided meals to furloughed fed employees anyway, and they would. I like that he is using his restaurant to shine a light on the impact of the current shut down.

The JBJ Soul Kitchen and The Murphy Family Foundation would like to announce that the Soul Kitchen in Red Bank, New Jersey will be open on January 21 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm to provide meals for furloughed Federal workers and their families.

In line with our mission, Federal workers are encouraged to join us for a delicious meal and to learn about additional support and resources available in our community.

Our location is easily accessible by New Jersey Transit one block from the Red Bank Train Station.
