Can’t happen. Republicans are contractually obligated to vote for Trump.

That's really not the point. If he stands, that makes it a three-way race between Trump, Schultz and the Democrat candidate. Schultz is extremely unlikely to win, or even come second, and a very likely outcome of such a race is that he would take enough votes from the Democrats to let Trump in again[.]

Or he'd take enough votes from Trump that an otherwise-Trump win would become a Trump loss.

So, shouldn't you be welcoming Mr. Schultz's candidacy?

So far he does not seem very likely to appeal to Trump voters.

Jill Stein being the beneficiary of a Russian pro-Jill Stein media blitz could indicate Howard Schultz might also be supported by the Russians in order to maintain their Kremlin Candidate.

Of course, the Russians also pulled this ploy with pro-Bernie Sanders stuff. They really wanted their Kremlin Candidate Trump.

If there were any way to be sure that he would attract enought voters who would otherwise have voted for Trump to insure a Trump loss, I would be in favor of him running, as long as he, himself, did not actually win. Based on what I know about him so far, I don't think he would make a good President. He seems just as much in favor of cutting taxes for billionaires like himself as Trump is. In fact, that seems to be the only issue he is clearly running on!
