I'm just kidding Hawkey. I realize that you're deadly serious, though. It's a complicated issue and I'm not really keeping up with it, to be honest. It's people like you who think in simplistic terms that party affiliation explains everything. That's the joke. I'm just having a good laugh at you, that's all.
I bet your laugh is even sweeter knowing that many of us are taking on second and third jobs in a futile effort to keep with the inflation and tax increases.

The percentage of employed people who work multiple jobs is lower than it was pre-pandemic. Congratulations. You've finally realized that many poor Americans have to work multiple jobs to survive.

If Xanax picked up an extra job it’s most likely due to the choices that led him there. Isn’t that what Conservatives like to say about poor people?

For reference, for Hawkeye:

The rate of people who held multiple jobs in January 2020: 5.2

November 2022 rate: 4.8.

St. Louis Fed

And just to pre-empt...
4 week moving average of continued unemployment claims January 2020: 1,849,750

November 2022: 1,508,500

I always laugh at this notion that Republicans are hard workers with ethic. Much of Ajax's rhetoric on this talking point mimics much of what my Mom posts on her Facebook wall. I never will forget the day we had Brazilian family visit, and one of them asked what the difference was between Democrat and Republican. My Mom was quick to respond, "Republicans believe people should work hard and earn their way. Democrats want the government to give them things for free."

My Mom said that. My Mom, who is 70, but has never worked a day in her life because she lived off of my Dad's socialist income from the Army, got free healthcare while married to him, but then got remarried to someone who never asked her to work. WTF does she know about work ethic? I try so hard to keep my inner laughter at bay whenever she and other Republicans make these kinds of statements, when I know what their "work history" really is.

If Republicans were truly such hard workers with ethic, then why are they terrified of incoming laborers from across the border? If they're so good at what they do they shouldn't be afraid of a little competition. The hypocrisy on this point is demonstrated when people like my racist Mom and Step-Dad ask us for our contractors' cell numbers because they're trying to get the best price for renovations.

Gotta love it when companies are experiencing record profits trying to blame "inflation" for their price gouging.
If a Giant's pronouns are "fee, fi, fi, and fum", does that mean short people's pronouns are "oompa, loompa, and doopity-doo"?
