Oklahoma orders schools to teach Bible 'immediately'

If I were a teacher in Oklahoma and were forced to teach the Bible, I would teach it all right, making sure to hit the most abhorrent verses it's got. Plenty of material there.

I'd be teaching them why it is obviously BS and why you should base your beliefs on evidence and reason.

ETA: So, do they need to teach the Bible in math class? We could do an exercise where we calculate the number of animals that would need to be on Noah's ark, then calculate the amount of space on that boat, and figure out how much square footage each animal had, showing how ridiculous that damned story really is.

We could also calculate migration distances each animal would have to take to come to the boat then return to their natural habitat after.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.

Some Schmo, I thought to ask how you would determine how many animals are under consideration. Probably depends upon interpretation. But that is part of the point you are aiming at. What is the idea? Teach what as interpreted by whom how???

Well I doubt that there is an actual lesson plan. It sounds like a flag and political noise.

Then I realize these days I could be wrong. Do they have a lesson plan to teach so and so's understanding of the Bible?

I think it's Oklahoma Senator Dusty Deevers who is friends with Joel Webbon, a Trump pastor who preaches a hardcore return to the laws of Leviticus. They've shared the stage previously in interviews. Webbon preach death by stoning to a wide range of sins as a maximum penalty. He preaches mandatory submission by everyone to these old Biblical laws. (They will pick and choose and justify what they want after the fact, it won't truly be Biblical law.)

Webbon insists that everyone will "act like Christians" or be punished by the law, whether they believe in Christianity or not.

So, Schmo, when you say that you'd teach the Bible by showing the class all the bad parts, that's already the plan. Christian Nationalists have every intention of bragging about how bad God is going to screw over if they don't submit.

Hey, you can't say North Korea doesn't have a good system for keeping people in line.
