I often wonder what the limit is to right wing crazy and have given up pretending there is a ceiling to it.

Today the political left notched a record high.

Anyone speculating about how to orchestrate a third Obama term is politically naïve and also tone deaf to the rhetoric on the right. Apparently some folks really want to see civil war.

I hadn’t noticed this thread until now.

I agree with honor. I’ll add that the manipulation necessary to get a third Obama term this way would be cynical and disingenuous. I’ve a hard time imagining ever feeling okay about this kind of dishonest and amoral process.

Why? I don't get it. Why is cynical or disingenuous? Once the process is disrupted, there is no cynicism, just disruption. And how is it any less cynical or disingenous to hide Biden's condition for years, jack up the process, and replace him with Kamala or another woman that spied on his campaign, that Clinton lady?

Let Biden run, with honor and with a relaxed schedule. If he can't finish he can't finish and his VP will step in. That's the process. Winning by changing the process has consequences, and they are not good. Also, Biden is within the margin of error in Detroit, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee and Omaha. He doesn't need to win America to be President.

It would be using a technicality to get around the clear intent of the constitution.

Biden stepping aside wouldn't be jacking up any process. If, indeed, Biden was this bad--for years--it would certainly have been cynical and disingenuous to hide it.

The process is whatever has been laid out by the rules that govern the Democratic Party. Biden (or anyone else) being able to step aside and release his delegates in the convention is a part of those rules. One does not need to be in second or third place in order to release one's delegates to vote as they choose. Being able to release delegates to vote for someone else is part of the process.

If Biden has some condition that he's been hiding, that's not running with honor. If Biden knows that he can't win-- in what he says is the race where democracy is hanging in the balance--but stays because of his vanity, that's not running with honor, either.
