Are these cases in the USA? If Measles had been almost eradicated in the USA then who brought them here into the USA. Have those who are unvaccinated against Measles been allowed to walk across the boarder?
Lots of folks are going to think, “illegal immigrants!!”
That said, consider that US citizens born before 1957 are generally believed to be immune to measles because they have likely been naturally exposed to the virus prior to mass vaccination. There are no guarantees of immunity, however, and someone within this age category could still travel abroad, be exposed, and become infected or transmit the virus to others upon their return.
Grandma and Grandpa may have brought back something more than just trinkets when they went on that retirement trip abroad.
Just to remind us all of the risks posed by measles, here is a note from the World Health Organisation:
Trust me, you don't want your kids getting this. I can remember a time when routine measles vaccination pretty well made measles a thing of the past where I live. But now, thanks to people like RFKJr, it's back again.

Sigh.
from the CDC:
Anyone who is not protected against measles can get measles while abroad and easily spread it to others when they return home. Although measles was declared eliminated in the United States in 2000, measles cases and outbreaks continue to occur in the United States due to unvaccinated international travelers.
In my area this happened most recently in 2018. From the New England Journal of Medicine:
Measles was declared eliminated in the United States in 2000, but the risk of outbreaks owing to international importations remains. An outbreak of measles in New York City began when one unvaccinated child returned home from Israel with measles; onset of rash occurred on September 30, 2018, 9 days after the child returned home.
So any Measles outbreak in the USA in 2025 will fall into the category of people returning from international travel back to the USA, not millions of people who just walked across the border who did not have to show any vaccination status.

It could be either.
Now, as regards vaccination, if you wanted to protect your child from measles infection, would you vaccinate your child, or wait until every other person that your child may come into contact with is vaccinated, instead?
by the way, Yellowstone … that’s a nice signature.

I would say, Polio, DPT, Chicken Pox, Small Pox, Measles. Those are the ones I received before age 5.
