Could Climate Change Be Reversing Itself?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a surprising reduction in CO2 emissions, it became quickly apparent that this reduction was due to the reduction of industrial activity and travel during the pandemic. The rate of emissions quickly rebounded after the end of the pandemic. This proved that mankind's activities definitely do have a significant impact. There are several reasons for hope, however. For one, the ozone layer in our atmosphere that helps protect us all from the sun's damaging UV radiation is rebounding faster than expected from the lows caused by CFC emissions. This rapid recovery resulting from concerted, worldwide reduction in such emissions shows that concerted public awareness and actions can have a significant positive effect on the world's environmental dangers.
For another, the transition to renewable energy sources is happening worldwide much faster than originally expected. Unfortunately, our idiotic president's denial of the demonstrably adverse effects of our over reliance on fossil fuels and the increasingly evident evidence of both the environmental and economic advantages of that transition is likely to try his darndest to put the kibosh of such efforts as long as he remains in power.

No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

What or when is it reverting to? One cannot inquire whether climate change is reversing without first clarifying what one believes the optimal level of CO2 in the atmosphere should be. MN350 states that the optimal level of CO2 in the atmosphere is 350 parts per million, whereas currently, we are approximately at 427 parts per million.

And still increasing, along with global temperatures, the frequency and seriousness of forest fires, both droughts and severe flooding, sea level rise and other real detrimental effects of human caused climate change. This is confirmed by more than 97% of the world's scientists and even a higher percentage of those who specialize in studying climate. As I said before in another thread, the only climate scientists who are making big money are those who are shilling for fossil fuel companies who are paying literally billions of dollars to cover up the realities of human caused climate change and the very real and provable benefits, both economic and environmental, of transitioning to renewable energy resources. If you still are not aware of that, you are deplorably under or misinformed or are at approximately the same cognitive level as flat earth believers!Hound of Heaven wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 12:05 pmWhat or when is it reverting to? It is easily understandable why fossil fuel companies whose main concern is preserving the enormous profits they make from selling oil and gas would spend huge sums of money to promote lies to cover up the reality of climate change. On the other hand, it is not at all understandable what climate scientists would stand to gain by promoting lies about a fictional climate change. They are despised by the current conservative administration and in great danger of being defunded and fired for merely pointing out what they have claimed to learn about the realities and dangers of climate change!
