Habemus papam!

Post by Kishkumen »

Over an hour after the white smoke emerged, the new pope, clad in his papal vestments, stepped out onto the balcony of St. Peter's Basilica and greeted the world.

He mentioned Pope Francis twice and explicitly said he wants to pick up where the late pope left off on that very balcony on Easter, before giving Urbi et Orbi blessing -- meaning to "the city and the world."

"We have to be a church that works together to build bridges and to keep our arms open, like this very piazza, welcoming," Leo told the crowd while speaking in Italian.

His full authority and jurisdiction begin immediately upon his acceptance of the office, prior to the public announcement.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”

I wish we could swap leaders.

You could swap churches!

LDS philosopher Tarik D. LaCour recently converted to Catholicism.

Wow! I had no idea that Tarik converted to Catholicism. I'm sure FAIR and the Interpreter will soon delete his contributions.

I dunno. The apologists still use Kerry's old stuff. It will be interesting to see.

I heard today that Laura Loomer called the new Pope a woke Marxist. Did I get that right, Hound?

The Marxists and the Nazis are forever bickering. When there are no Marxists to bicker with, the NeoNazis will lower the bar until they can find someone.

  1. There are a lot of posts on social media about the new Pope being a Marxist. I don’t believe it. He might believe in a community like the kibbutz or in more a larger system but Marxism like Nazism is an extreme run but Al Capone type gangsters which resulted in the unbelievable horror and destruction of millions of families and the enslavement of a billion people.
    .
  2. Being born in America with freedom I’m sure this new Pope dreams of community where people take care of each other but putting that into practice by government is another thing. Malachi Martin wrote a book called The Jesuits. It was an interesting read. It’s seemed like Pope Paul II had a problem with Jesuits who pushed Marxism because he was from Poland when it was ruled by the communist. He had a big issue with the revolutionary Jesuits who believed in the principles embraced by the Sandinista government.
I support the right to keep and arm bears.
