I saw it in the first run, as did others. He shouldn't have been President. Who was running the country?huckelberry wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 3:44 pmDecline happened, he should not have run for a second term. Clearly that was a serious mistake.

Re: What the heck is going on?
Who do you think was running it, obviously it was Joe Biden. The people who worked under him knew what the plan was and did their jobs well with minimal problems. But I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, because anyone with a functioning brain could reason this out in minutes, so what answer are YOU looking for? The Jews? China? People from Mexico? The Swamp? The Deep-State?

I remember that one.
The reactions were as expected, but the ones in the form of war letters to loved ones, like some demented SNL skit, were hilarious. Same link:
Trump said it was the teleprompter's fault. He says it went out, and he was left with only his own self-diagnosed brilliant brain.
He knew the speech SO well.
[bolding added by me]During a passage in the speech in which Trump was describing the American Revolutionary War in soaring rhetoric, he remarked: "The Continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware, and seized victory from Cornwallis of Yorktown. Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do. And at Fort McHenry, under the rockets' red glare, it had nothing but victory. And when dawn came, their Star Spangled Banner waved defiant."
Because no airports existed in the 18th century (the first successful airplane wasn't flown until 1903)...

Dearest George, We never expect to find ourselves in Laguardia airport fighting through the TSA line. We prayed hard but never made it to the gate. Remember us fondly. Do not let our struggle be for naught.

"I knew the speech very well so I was able to do it without a teleprompter but the teleprompter did go out and it was actually hard to look at anyway because there was rain all over it..."

Ooph, I'm sorry you've got to deal with that. I have benign prostatic hyperplasia. Fortunately, it doesn't cause me any issues, other than not being able to pee while sitting. I'm lucky, in that mine doesn't appear to be hormone related (at least not yet). I went on TRT about 8 years ago, and there was no change. So, just regular bloodwork to keep an eye on it, like any other middle-aged dude.
Cancer is rascally in just how many varieties of cancer there are for each type of tissue, and how fast (or slow) they can progress. A lady from my parents' ward just died of a type of blood cancer. She had become symptomatic about 3 weeks prior to the diagnosis, and passed away 2 weeks after. So, five weeks from experiencing symptoms until it killed her. Left behind a husband and 2 kids. F**k cancer.
I once had the chance to chat with a research fellow at a cancer institute. I asked him (out of morbid curiosity) what my chances as an average person were of getting cancer. He said 100%, assuming I lived long enough.

Thanks, It just sucks when I get a flare up every few years, it is peeing 4 or 5 times a night. My father and older brother both had prostate cancer and beat it. I get my PSA checked most every year and an ultra sound every three or four years.Doctor Steuss wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 6:05 pmOoph, I'm sorry you've got to deal with that. The problem with the ultra sound is they detect kidney stones, which I then worry about. I've passed a few and it is by far the worse pain I have ever felt. Lol, gotta love it.
One thing we can agree on 100% of the time.... F**k cancer.

Cheer up! I think what he was referring to was the discovery made by the veterans' hospital system after systematic autopsies - if you are a man, then if you live a long time you will almost certainly die with prostate cancer, but not of it. Last long enough, and we nearly all end up with a really slow kind that you won't even know you have got.Doctor Steuss wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 6:05 pmI once had the chance to chat with a research fellow at a cancer institute. I think it was pretty clear to us all the biden was struggling. I wonder really if in some ways, when you take war put of the picture, that the general day to day running of things is probably already well established and people just get on with it. I sort of think of leaders as being like the face and public representative of a group of people involved. I don't visualise them as having final say and ultimate power to change things. They are probably heavily swayed by advisors.
P.s. sorry you guys are having troubles. It doesn't sound fun.

Apparently, I'm not sure how true this is (my 10 year old told me this), the body develops and destroys cancer regularly. Might have to fact check that.Chap wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 9:39 pmCheer up! Re: What the heck is going on?
In a functioning democracy, the president should be evaluated by an independent medical team. Someone not competent enough to stand trial for mishandling classified documents is not competent enough to be negotiating with Putin on whether or not to unleash nuclear war. At the very least voters should have had access to the Hurr tapes to know the mental condition of who they were voting for. To hear Karine Jean Pierre and Kamala attack Hurr as partisan while withholding those tapes is all you need to understand Democrat party ethics and their definition of what misinformation and cheap fakes really is. They lied, deflected, and used personal attacks of ageism, racism, etc so long as it benefitted them politically. Voters should be very skeptical of what Democrat politicians tell them, given that we now know how willing they are to lie and deceive to gain political advantage.IWMP wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 9:42 pmI think it was pretty clear to us all the biden was struggling. For Jake Tapper to now start telling the truth in hopes of regaining the credibility the mainstream media lost is laughable.
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.
