What's a Class III weapon?

National Firearms Act Title II-Class III cover things like sound supressors, shotguns and rifles under a certain length, machineguns/full automatic weapons, and "other destructive devices". You have to fill out a lot of paperwork, have a lengthy BATF background investigation done on you, and pay a title transfer tax in order to obtain Title II-Class III weapons and equipment.

As far as the custom work I did to the handgun I mentioned previously, all the was done more to make the weapon shoot as reliably and accurately as possible while still maintaining a weapon with a small enough profile and weight for concealed carry use.

I own a semi-auto shotgun and a 22 rifle. My brothers the real gun collector. He recently bought a 50 cal desert eagle, which I think is just stupid. Why own a pistol like that for home defence? Sure it'll kill the burgler, as well as your kid on the other side of the wall, your neighbors car, and your neighbor sitting in their house watching tv.

For deer hunting my Dad has some nice rifles. I'd love to collect myself, but their so damn expensive.

Weapons like Magnum Research's Desert Eagle XIX series pistol aren't really used for much of anything but braggin' rights. You could use if for hunting applications, as the .50 Action Express cartridge is plenty powerful enough to tank down all but the biggest of game, but there are pistols and cartridges much more suited for that application.

That being said, I've got one of Magnum Research's XIX 6"&10" component systems (one Desert Eagle XIX pistol along with bolt assemblies for .50AE, .44 Magnum, and .357 Magnum, six inch and ten inch barrels for all three calibers, and two mags for each). I got it with the Titatium Carbon Nitride finish because it protects the gun and it just looks sweet (I thought the 24kt Gold plate finish was a little over the top). Say what you want about Desert Eagle's being BFGs, but they are fun as all hell to shoot and I've got the disposable income to pay damned near $1.50 a cartridge to shoot Cor-Bon .50AE.

Oh, if you're brother likes big bore pistols, tell him to cowboy up and get himself an S&W Model 500. Smith and Wesson introduced the Model 500 pistols and the .500 S&W Magnum cartridge a few years back when they finally got tired or wannabies World's Most Powerful Handgun cartridges like the .454 Casul or .50 Action Express. Give you an idea of the level of sheer badassitutde the .500 S&W Magnum puts out, just the 400grn FMJ load comes out the barrel at over 2000fps and over 4000ft-lbs of energy.

We don't own any guns. With small kids in the house, we just didn't think it was smart.

However, I don't have any problem with people owning guns. My Dad did quite a bit of duck hunting when I was younger, and he owned several guns for that purpose.

16+ and they're not mine. If it were left completely up to me, the number would be 0.
