The only Mister Scratch I know is the one from this board. Is he a character in a movie or something? I thought I saw a post referencing a Mister Scratch from a movie.
Well, since I seem to be the standard-bearer for this sort of thing, here are my .02: I personally think that, for the most part, former posting IDs are fair game. One cannot help but wonder why a person would feel the need for a second layer of anonymity, particularly when that 2nd persona is used in dubious ways. I disapprove of the MADmod double anonymity, and so, generally speaking, I also disapprove of "persona hoppers," as it were. Of course, these things each need to be looked at on a case-by-case basis. For example, would have been kosher to have "outed" Nehor/Belial? No, I don't think so. The ID hopping in this case was mostly a joke, and pretty much harmless. What about PP's Boaz and Lidia ID? Again, this seems to have been done primarily in the spirit of mischief and fun, so, I say: No need to "out" him. Now, how about DCP/Freethinker? In this case, DCP was obviously manipulating people, and outright lying in order to score rhetorical points, thus, I think it's entirely fair game to "out" him. (In case anyone was wondering, The Good Professor has also used the following pseudonyms: Logic Chopper, Fritz, and Monitor.) Likewise, I once received a tip that Pahoran was using the name "Kemara" as a sockpuppet (Pah rigorously denied this). Due to his abusive behavior, I really see no problem with "outing" Pahoran.
