Re: The Presidential Election Poll
I voted for that Obama guy. I also voted for the local casinos (Colorado) to be allowed to raise their minimum bet limits from $5 to something like $100 and to let them stay open longer so long as some of their revenue goes to community colleges or something like that because I like gambling. I just got back from Vegas where I gambled $9 in a 25 cent slot machine and won $33.50. That's a net gain of $24.50, although they didn't give me the 50 cents because they didn't have any change because you can't put quarters in quarter slots anymore, dammit. I put the cash in my pocket and bolted, man.

Re: The Presidential Election Poll
I voted for McCain for several reasons. Under Obama I am looking at higher taxes because I make a more than the average salary. I think Obama is under- qualified. I think McCain has shown over 20 years to be middle the road senator who has sponsored many bills with Democrats. Additionally I think we are going to continue to have partisan politics and with that I think McCain might have been able avert some of that.
That said, I see smart people here and friends who I know are intelligent people who support Obama and it gives me pause. I also see other idiots who favor McCain and that gives me even more pause..
I said it earlier.. If an Obama Presidency can cure the ills of the country I will gladly say I was wrong.
Oh.. And I voted for Slot Machines in Maryland..

God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it.

Kinda like saying:

I'm not in favor of gun control. I can only hope that the Democrats remember what happened in the mid 90s, when their efforts to pass gun control legislation helped lead to the Republicans sweeping them out of office in 1994. I hope the Democrats are very, very cautious about trying to bring it up again.
Obama is pretty good for sportsmen, etc. on gun ownership. He thinks it's fine to extend the definition of ownership rights beyond militias and whatnot. He was also endorsement by the American Hunters and Shooters Association.

You pull in more than $250,000 per?

Palin '09! ;)

This is because I actually don't own a Subaru Outback. In fact, I sold both my vehicles and moved to Harlem and now I rely on public transportation (this is true). I missed the last ceremony on Friday (Halloween) because the bus was late. I don't expect there to be any more problems with Obama as President of the US.

I guess it sucks to be you. (Well, it sucks more to be a lot of other people who don't make >250K per year.)
I think Obama is under- qualified.
Untested, maybe. But under-qualified? What does that even mean? He meets all the definitive qualifications in our Constitution.
I think McCain has shown over 20 years to be middle the road senator who has sponsored many bills with Democrats. Additionally I think we are going to continue to have partisan politics and with that I think McCain might have been able avert some of that.
I hope Obama can do it as well. He speaks as if he means to, and his choice of VP was not blatant pandering to the extremists in his party (like McCain choosing Palin). I'm just happy that Hillary Clinton didn't get the nomination because that would have really cranked up the partisan politics. All in all, Obama's campaign was less partisan than McCain's, which is sad given McCain's 20 years of being so middle of the road as you said. It's kind of tragic for John McCain.
That said, I see smart people here and friends who I know are intelligent people who support Obama and it gives me pause. I also see other idiots who favor McCain and that gives me even more pause..
Now that's refreshing. It's good to know when to pause, and failing to know that may be the first problem with the loud idiots who favor McCain.

Heh. And Palin thinks SHE'S tough.
