Police chiefs implore Congress not to pass concealed-carry reciprocity gun law

The nation’s police chiefs are rising up against another conservative crime-fighting initiative, sending a letter to leaders of Congress on Thursday opposing a bill that would allow gun owners with concealed-carry permits in one state to carry their concealed weapons in all 50 states.

The letter from the International Association of Chiefs of Police, representing 18,000 police departments across the United States and Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, targets the “Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act,” which passed the House in December and is now assigned to the Senate Judiciary Committee. The letter is endorsed by 473 police officials from 39 states, from large departments such as Los Angeles and Atlanta to small departments such as Spanish Fork, Utah, and Falls Church, Va.

It is their uninformed opinion and nothing more, when they conflict with Right Wing talking points.

So, no argument then?

The OP set forth a question...your inability to offer an honest answer really isn't arguable at this point.

What's the question? It appears to be, "How can you defend X in light of Y?" Since X and Y don't appear to be related, I think you need to explain why it matters. Otherwise, you might as well be arguing that people who commit petty theft should be in prison for life and ask how anyone can disagree in light of the fact that a person who committed petty theft went on to murder someone. If you think local law enforcement not reporting undocumented immigrants to ICE unless they have warrants or are known felons make people appreciably less safe such that the policy is bad for that reason, support that.

(Of course, we both know you can't support that, hence all your dodging and dipping.)

The most obvious conclusion from this thread and most of subgenius' other threads is that one doesn't necessarily have to be particularly intelligent or rational to be an architect (assuming, of course, that he really is the architect he claims to be).
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Yet, by the evidence, still over your head.

Frankly, I think pretty well all in real life claims made by anonymous posters on a discussion board should be taken, at least initially, with a very large grain of salt. I mean, anyone can claim to be anything that makes them feel good, or that they think might impress others and hike their credibility. I do it all the time, myself ...

Im pretty sure there is a stalker on this board that can chip away at that grain of salt.
Nevertheless, i appreciate how posters like you can blame Trump when a child with the flu dies after being dragged across a desert and attempting to illegally cross the border while staring at your feet when a legal immigrant is killed by a sanctuary city beneficiary - no doubt with the rationale that these things just happen.

These kids didn't get sick from their journey. They didn't get sick until after they were in custody. Apparently it is safer to travel across a desert than it is to be in CBP custody.

And Trump is now blaming Democrats for their deaths if you haven't heard, probably because he operates from the same stupid assumptions as you do.

That's two deaths in three weeks after Trump's insane immigration policies kick in. And a video clip of them being physically abused.

Gee, weird how no kids died in our custody during Obama.
