in my opinion the United States was not built on a particular Christian religious sect, but it was founded up on a general Judeo-Christian religion. Our legal system assumes people share values that are common to these religious traditions. We don't really share those same values anymore. Michael Flynn's words did seem similar to Joseph Smith's view that there should be one faith, one baptism, one God, etc. A country in which everyone shared judeo-christian values could be enormously successful.

This is typical boilerplate propaganda from the religious Right. The fact that you long for a theocracy just goes to show how the so called "patriots" on the Right are really no friend to the Constitution.

People like Michael Flynn see the way forward is to look backward, to the way things were. That ain't the way history works. You can't start from where we were. You have to start from where we are.

The problem is that the way things were was the GOP and its base weren't damned insane.

They don't have any interest in going back to that. They enjoy being aggrieved and whiny about the fantasy world they've manufactured. I honestly believe they enjoy being this stupid. It's got to be somewhat liberating to not have to worry about reality, and just make up whatever story serves the dumbass narrative and agenda you're looking to push.

This is why I ignore ajax (aside from the fact that he can't avoid lying). The so-called Christians in this country don't share Christ's values. Christ never said anything about worshipping a douche bag (unless you count his purported dad).

So, since Jews do not recognise any special status for the particular Jewish guy commonly called 'Jesus' by modern English speakers, his special status as 'Christ' (i.e. the anointed one, hence the Messiah) can hardly be any part of the core 'judeo-christian values' you advocate for your imaginary nation, can it?

Or when you say 'judeo-christian', do you just mean Christian? If so, why not say so?
