Height from top plate to ridge - rise (7") times run (15'/half the gabled side) plus 4 9/16" for the truss top cord. 109 9/16" . Also known as 9' 1 9/16". Or, 9 1 4 +. Or, 9 1 5 -.

Calculating roof area/squares is a job for your const. calculator, or, you would need to know what a hypotenuse is, or, you can just get up on the roof after I build it for you and tape it off. You're gonna need something a little longer than your dollar tree 12 footer though.
