I enjoy travelling and seeing different geography, seasons, landscapes. I still listen to vallenatos on spotify. Like plantains it was an acquired taste that most North American's wouldn't develop. And I had some truly wonderful loving LDS church members who I met on my mission. I learned a lot about being more loving and developing a more Christlike character from these people. My own culture wasn't quite as expressive or joyful so I guess that would be a plus for diversity.

And yeah trade and commerce provide a wonderful diversity of goods. But I don't see why we have to tear down borders and implement global socialism to continue to have commerce or even temporarilly visit other countries.
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Quite right. I don't think it is being seriously proposed that the US should do any such thing, is it?

I’ve never been able to develop a tase for plantains. Good Lord I tried, especially when I lived in Peru. Also:

I wasn’t familiar with that genre of music. I’ll check it out today.

My companions would push the "maduros" off onto my plate during the prayer. You might be able to handle the "aplastados" or smashed ones easier. Or perhaps even in a potatoe chip, but I have to admit that potatoe chips are better than plantain chips. I hated yuca as a missionary but if it's done right it can be incredible and exotic.

I've always dreamed of cruising around Cape Horn during the Austral summer this time of year and just looking at the moon and stars from a different perspective. Just looking north to see the sun would be worth the travel for me if I were retired, single, no children at home and were truly free to do what I wanted.

That’s… actually interesting. Hrm. I’ll have to think about that one.

Out here on the east coast, where it's the same-- Nothing, but nothing beats the diversity in food, available at every meal. It is definitely one of the great parts of living here. Your memories are making me hungry!
Pretty much the same thing is true on the west coast, in California, where I live -- even in the northern, conservative rural county that I call home. My county has a surprisingly diverse population, considering how conservative and rural it is, as does the particular neighborhood I live in. I am a Norwegian immigrant (having arrived with my family when I was 5), my wife was born and raised in this community, being of mostly Northern European ancestry (predominantly Scandinavian). our favorite neighbors, with whom we hang out with the most often, are Indian Sikh and American couple. We share each other's stories, cultural traditions and favorite recipes. Our second most favorite neighbors are Asian-American who live next door, just to the west of us, with home we share produce from each other's gardens, and check each others mail when one of us is out of town.

Our county has a large number of Ethnic Indians, mostly engaged in agriculture, who are well accepted and respected. They stage an annual Sikh festival here every November, which is reportedly the world's largest, attracting participants from as far away as India, which all in our community are welcome to attend and treated to the best in Indian cuisine for free. We have Hispanics and blacks in our neighborhood too, and we get along well with all of them. Just to the East of us in the next county there is a fairly sizable minority of ethnic Chinese, which treats the community every year to a Chinese New Year festival, which is always well attended and appreciated. Few, if any, in this generally conservative area object to or resent this cultural diversity.

Mealtime in my home is quite diverse. We regularly enjoy standard American favorites, Norwegian dishes my wife learned from my Norwegian mother, Chinese dishes, Mexican food, East Indian recipes learned from our Sikh friend, etc. Our community has excellent Indian restaurants, Mexican Restaurants, Chinese restaurants, and the very best Thai restaurant I have ever eaten at, etc.

Tucker Carlson's and other FOX hosts' rants about the so-called evils of diversity are both extremely stupid and over-the-top racist and bigoted! Fortunately, not all conservatives feel that way about diversity. Most of the conservatives I personally know in my neck of the woods don't seem to do so!
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

I’ve been pondering this and can’t recall any negative diversity experiences. So I’m going to have to answer “all of them.”
