I know a very effective way to burn calories. Get a carrot and stick it (just a little bit, don't go deep) in your butt for about five minutes. I am serious, I swear to god. Do it three times a week and you will lose weight fast. It will feel good. Try it and let us know how it goes for you.

Careful with the Keto diet. Constantly going up and down on weight is not good for your health. Try to get Semaglutide for weight loss.
Try Rapamycin. Or try the risky stem cell therapy

Re: Anyone else a Vegetarian?
I probably would be in better health if I followed all those suggestions, but the only one I do regularly is number 5. Your post made me want to try to motivate myself to start following at least a few more of them. I know that I definitely feel better when I walk regularly, and nothing is more effective at lowering my blood pressure than going for a good, brisk walk or pumping away at my desk cycle for at least 30 minutes or so. My blood pressure medication doesn't seem to have much effect.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 8:12 pmAnyway here is my hit list for you:
1. Continue weights but maybe reduce the weight if it's bench pressing or dead lifting. But don't stop putting weight on your spine entirely if at all possible.
2. Use free weights or machines for arms and legs.
3. Yoga. It elongates and strengthens muscles, increases flexibility and it's good for your head.
4. Swim laps.
5. Walk. Walk at a fast pace for cardio. Up and down hill if you can get it. Or simply go hiking if you enjoy it. Use a trampoline if you have it.
6. DANCE.
Do NOT run on paved surfaces.
Do NOT exercise in any fashion without stretching before and after.
Your transformed diet sounds great! Keep the protein up and eat the rainbow!
Though I have reached at least the beginning stages of late youth (78), I still don't suffer from significant joint pain whether resting or exercising. I probably have a touch of stiffness from arthritis, but so far, it is far from being significantly debilitating or uncomfortable.
As for my metabolism, it remains very forgiving, as it has all through my life. My weight consistently remains between about 145 and 150 lbs., virtually no matter how little or how much or how little I eat. In my youth, my weight varied even less between starving myself and being a glutton. As I mentioned in a previous post, I was the skinniest guy in my circle of friends though I could out eat any two of them combined. I still normally eat significantly more than anyone else in my family at mealtimes (sometimes twice as much), without getting fat. If I go on an eating binge for a while, eating more than I need, my weight might go up a couple of lbs. or so. and stabilize at the higher weight until I cut back to what I normally eat (but I excrete more often). Sometimes I go through periods when I, for some reason or other, don't feel like eating very much and even skip meals. My weight then drops a couple of lbs. or so below my normal weight and stabilizes there until my normal high appetite returns (but I excrete less often). It still remains true with me that I can't seem to gain significant amount of weight except by working out hard to gain muscle.
As for being a vegetarian, meat is a smaller proportion of my diet than it used to be, but I still enjoy it when I get it (especially fish), and I have always enjoyed eating a wide variety of different vegetables and fruit.

Yeah I know you can eat your weight and mine and remain skinny.Gunnar wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 8:10 amI probably would be in better health if I followed all those suggestions, but the only one I do regularly is number 5. I think we in our society have forgotten how to work and play, myself included, but I try to stay physically active. Example, the work we do to maintain our property in the warmer months is pretty labor intensive but I always feel good that we've done it.
I envy your weather! It's too darn cold for outdoor exercise here in the winter months and winter weather lasts from late November to the end of May. I almost always gain at least 5 pounds over winter and lose it again in summer. It's hard to stay motivated to exercise in winter but as I said in my above, even when I'm not devoted to exercising, I tend to be fidgety and I don't sit around. I do dance almost every day. I don't do it intentionally for exercise, it's just what I do. I always have.
What is a desk cycle? Do you have a photo of one you can link to for me?

According to the ad, it is the only deskcycle not made in China. My daughter ordered it from Amazon for about $200.

Can you adjust pressure on that thing? I'm reading up on it!
ETA: "The DeskCycle has 8 resistance levels."

Sharks go miles out of their way to avoid Binger's wake. They might even consider vegetarianism.
