Re: Moved: Former Mormon And BYU Graduate Senator Krysten Sinema Ditches The Liberal Cult.
I had no idea who Sinema was until a few days ago, and the liberal source I got the information from didn't seem bothered by it. Some mention about a voting strategy, splitting some vote somewhere; that probably won't work but I can't recall the details. I didn't know she was Mormon until now, and so look at that, I learned something.
Let me ask you this A-Mike, since we're on the topic of Arizona: how outraged are you about Katie Hobbs stealing the election from from Kari Lake? I personally think it's hilarious. Go Dominion! Go deep state! Are you going to stand idly by like Binger and his local steel worker's union shooting club and let it happen? Kari has called for the valiant to confront the state government and overturn by force. Why not put your guns to good use? That's what we have gun rights for, to protect ourselves against government overreach, right?
I don't see a better time to fix the problem. What reason does anyone have to believe that since we Democrats control the Dominion machines fully now, that our power can ever be stopped? We let you have the House just to make it not seem so obvious to the average person.
There is only one solution. The articles of the Constitution must be terminated and the people with the most guns are the ones to do the terminating.

What is up with this place! I have had two threads moved to Spirit Paradise even though the threads were pertaining to topics on Mormonism.
Why are threads like "Dan McClellan Is A Tik Tok Star" and "The New BYPINATOR" allowed in the Terrestrial but my thread is not allowed?

Are you going to engage in your own topic, or is this just an opportunity to kvetch about demonrats? Like, is the limit of your ability to discuss something is to draw a terrible analogy and then say, “Explain yourselves!”?Wallaby Lover wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 4:55 pmWhat is up with this place! Fear to keep in check!
Not a day goes by that you can't switch over to Daily Caller, FOX News, Brietbart etc and get at least ten reasons why you should be terrified whenever Democrats are in power. All you idiots have left is scare tactics.

What is up with this place is that we’re enforcing the direction between Mormon Discussions and Non-Mormon Discussions as it has been done here for decades. Throwing in some reference to Mormonism or a person who is or was a Mormon doesn’t mean the post is about Mormonism. What counts is what the post is about. Sometimes it isn’t clear from the OP and we wait to see where the conversation goes.Wallaby Lover wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 4:55 pmWhat is up with this place! From reading the two threads you started, it’s clear that both are about politics, with only tangential references to Mormonism or Mormons. Specifically, both are on the same topic: liberalism is a cult.
If you would like all three moderators to review the call, I suggest sending one of us a PM explaining why you think your threads belong on the Mormon Discussions side of the board. Or you can PM Shades directly.
If you think someone else’s thread is in the wrong place, please use the report button and include your reasons why you think it should be in a different forum.

I don't think you have the faintest idea of what liberalism really is. My best guess is that you use liberalism and wokism as pejorative terms for people who refuse to share your specific prejudices and bigotry. It's sort of like racists' use of the epithet "Nigger lover" to mock and disparage others who are not bigots like themselves.Wallaby Lover wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 2:23 pmSenator Krysten Sinema, a former Mormon and graduate of BYU, decides to ditch the liberal cult known as the Democrat party, and other members of the liberal cult are outraged by her decision. The similarities between the liberal cult wing of the Democrat party and Mormonism's cult-like traits astound me. Dissent is viewed as a sin, and either in the liberal or the Mormon cults, the attacks begin as soon as you don't agree with the cult narrative and don't stop until you do.

This video shows atleast a half dozen liberal cult members attacking Senator Sinema over her decision to depart the liberal cult. Can someone please explain how the liberal cult narrative is different from the Mormon cult narrative? Both cults use fear to keep members in line.
Topic moved to appropriate forum. -cp-
Do you oppose "...a political and social philosophy that promotes individual rights, civil liberties, democracy, and free enterprise?" As explained by Doc Cam, that is the legitimate definition of liberalism. Any extremist view, whether on the left or right extreme ends of the political spectrum that try to enforce their views on others, are not truly liberal, whatever they claim to be. Nor do they believe in democracy.

No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Some additional history on Sinema:Wallaby Lover wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 4:55 pmWhat is up with this place! I have had two threads moved to Spirit Paradise even though the threads were pertaining to topics on Mormonism.

The thrust of your topic is not about Mormonism, and you’re using someone who left the church almost 30 years ago in an attempt to portray it as such. She graduated as valedictorian from Walton High School in DeFuniak Springs at age 16 and earned her B.A. from Brigham Young University (BYU) in 1995 at age 18. She left the LDS Church after graduating from BYU. Sinema returned to Arizona in 1995.
While employed as a social worker, Sinema completed a Master of Social Work degree at Arizona State University in 1999. In 2004, she earned a J.D. degree from Arizona State University College of Law and started working as a criminal defense lawyer. In 2012, she earned a Ph.D. in justice studies, also from Arizona State. In 2018, she completed an online M.B.A. from the W. P. Carey School of Business at ASU.
Both subforums enjoy the same access privileges, so there should be no issue with your thread being moved into the more appropriate option.

The "thrust" of the topic isn't to discuss anything at all, but to accuse liberals of being a cult, over and over again, without any reasoning. The newsworthy headline is only a pretense with bare connection to Mormonism as the author had and has no intention of discussing anything, let alone the topic.
Personally, I'm okay with leaving it in Terrestrial as a freebie. Sometimes non-religious stuff gets discussed in terrestrial. I'd say just leave it there as Wallaby doesn't post very often.
...it's just that, if it's left in terrestrial, then the time between Wallaby posts will shorten. I don't have an exact calculation handy, but within hours or days, there will be more posts from Wallaby in Terrestrial, all of which make the same point that liberals are a cult, and there will be as many Wallaby topics repeating the same thing as other topics within the top 10 posts or more, and if mods continue to allow it from there, terrestrial will either explode into nothing but Wallaby posts on the same topics, and or Wallaby dropping the innocent new guy act and testing the waters with personal insults; and if that's unchecked, then the full plan of do nothing but yelling and screaming personal insults and creating new junk threads calling liberals a cult will come into fruition.
I'd still almost say, let's give it a shot anyway. Let's see if Wallaby proves me wrong. Let's let Wallaby go unchecked in Terrestrial and see what happens.
Well, there are two arguments against that. The first is it isn't fair to people like Stem, who just put a lot of time into a topic and now that gets pushed down by the spam. The second is that whether Wallaby gets nipped in the bud at post 1, or allowed to continue to burn the trash heap out of control, assuming this is the result, Binger will be equally outraged. In fact, he will probably be outraged more in proportion to the level of guilt. So ironically, the mods are actually maximally satisfying Binger by just moving the topic now.

Re: Moved: Former Mormon And BYU Graduate Senator Krysten Sinema Ditches The Liberal Cult.
You’re highlighting the problem. The OP doesn’t really engage the topic; it just Introduces a vague accusation (“liberals are in a cult ..!!1!”). Based on previous examples, this Sinema lead-in to that vague accusation will not really be explored; it’ll be tossed aside as soon as a different vaguely related news topic can be added, with the same vague accusation about the so-called liberal cult. Rinse and repeat, and repeat, and repeat.Gadianton wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 6:47 pmThe "thrust" of the topic isn't to discuss anything at all, but to accuse liberals of being a cult, over and over again, without any reasoning. So, if the thread really isn’t about Mormonism per se, rather being just a repetitive complaint without substance about the alleged liberal cult, then it makes sense to let the thread fulfill that destiny within this subforum … as all of the other previous threads of the same nature have.

spam is a good name for Wallaby's political slogan without substance. Buy dove soap, you know it is right.
