Another possibly on the distant horizon. Some criminal out of New Jersey that Trump commuted the sentence for is being charged again. That along with the Rudy G news about selling pardons might suggest this guy might have some things to say to lessen a second sentence. Distant horizon compared to the other cases but one to put a pin in.

Also Trump might be looking at state charges on any of the fake elector schemes besides Georgia. It appears he was also taking to Doug Ducey personally in AZ and also reaching deep into the Electoral College looking for EC votes even as far as New Mexico.
Thanks, Bond. It’s certainly possible that more cases will be filed.

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best for the prosecution, I put them like this:

Documents: 10
Georgia: 9
Election interference: 7
Hush Money: 6
The Document case seems like 11/10 at this point particularly the doc related to the Atomic Energy Act which can only be declassified through statute.

I think the main challenge there will be the “unitary executive theory.” I think the theory is absurd, but it’s probably good for a trip to the Supreme Court.

Why so far into the future?

Incidentally, there really is no case for late-night bedroom talk between Sean Hannity and Donald Trump as long as both were consenting adults.

Any number of reasons. By federal statute, trial must be held within 70 days of the indictment. But, the clock pauses when certain potential events happen. For example, it stops when a party a motion and then restarts when the judge rules on the motion. (The judge has 30 days). There will be lots of pre-trial motions. The DOJ has already filed at least one. Then, because the case involves classified documents, there are a whole bunch of issue that have to be resolved before trial can begin. The judge has leeway to allow for the complexities of individual cases.

I don’t find the date unreasonable.

I don’t know. RICO has some finicky requirements that may not be satisfied.

Rumblings online, if correct, are the charges in Georgia will be racketeering for him and ~12 others.

Other rumblings suggest other financial investigations into Trump but it seems his finances have been under investigation forever. The 1/6 and documents are going to be the big ones while the Georgia one might be the one that sticks because no pardons in Georgia if Trump wins President.

Florida now has a superseding indictment with new charges and an additional co-conspirator. So many crimes in such a short space of time.

And let's not lose sight of the fact that much of the most incriminating evidence against Trump comes inadvertently from his own clueless and narcissistic mouth, much to the dismay of his own lawyers and advisors. That there are so many people who were so easily deluded by him and still can't see what an incorrigible and dangerous fraud he is will never cease to be a source of amazement and dismay to me.
