First President of Israel David Ben-Gurion was furious at the American Jews who were not making Aliyah in the number they should be making. They came to America that still had social problems but built business and stayed. They did not have the problems of Jews, Arabs and what the British had and creating society out of sand.

It would have been easier on the Palestinian people if Florida had been selected as the new home for Israel. Border skirmishes with Alabama would have been good for that region, pre-civil rights.

What was the number they "should be making," and who decided upon that number?

Not sure but he thought Jews should be in Israel especially after the 1948/1949 War and later wars that expanded the boarders. The USA also turned away the ship EXODUS around 1939 sending 900 Jews back to Germany and likely their deaths.

Dr. Shades, I might say that I’m sure David Ben-Gurion most likely thought that Einstein, Oppenheimer and Feynman should have been in Israel. Israel had a socialistic government yet in America those individuals were persecuted.

But Jews who were able to get to the U.S.A saw opportunity. Since 1949 and Israel’s Declaration of Independence they have basically been at war.
