This article in the Atlantic by Christianity Today editor Russell Moore is poignant and well worth reading. Although I'm hesitant in being hopeful those who would benefit most from reading it will take the time to do so.

When we are willing to see children terrorized rather than stop telling lies about their families, we should step back, forget about our dogs and cats for a moment, and ask who abducted our consciences. That's especially true for those of us who, like me, claim to be followers of Jesus of Nazareth, who told us that on the Day of Judgement, "people will give account for every carless word they speak (Mt 12:36).

Look at it starting at time stamp 10:20. After the money quote mentioned in the Guardian article cited hereinabove, Vance says he "created" the story meaning that he is creating the media focus on it, not that he makes stuff up to get attention. That is said starting at time stamp 12:08. It seems Buttigieg is taking the remarks out of context for political gain? Darn politicians!

Let me see if I got it - I deliberately don't publish/discuss the entire video or link to it in order to slant a media story. I guess if the next Hitler wants the White House again, anything goes? Does this answer Ceeboo as to why he has distrust in the corporate media?

Buttigieg made an interesting observation after the debate that Trump and his campaign share bizarre conspiracy theories out of a strategy. The goal of the strategy? To distract the discourse away from the Trump presidency's record.

But … but under Trump, Americans were able to demonstrate their social status by how much toilet paper they had amassed.

But what about the state of the economy at the end of Trump's presidency? The root causes of inflation?

That was due to the scamdemic. The only thing Trump did wrong was to be brow beaten into shutting down the economy by people in the Deep State like Fauci, and those that called him a greedy murderer for wanting to uphold the civil rights of people to go to work and make a living. But no, you demanded that we incur these economic losses because less than one percent of the US population, most of which were going to be dead soon anyway, might pass away on to a better world, due to COVID. That was Democrat policy and Democrat governors that chose this economy over the deaths of a few old frail people, not Republicans. It was Joe Biden who shoveled out excessive stimulus packages based on failed Keynsian economics long after people should have been told to get back to work or go hungry.

His trade policies and impacts of tariffs?

If the Trump's tarrifs were so bad, why didn't Biden/Harris get rid of them when they took power? The Democrats are the incumbent party, not the Republicans.

His lack of an alternative to the Affordable Care Act then and unlikely ability to create one now despite saying he is working on one?

So you're going to vote for the Harris single payer plan of getting rid of private insurance and putting us all on medicaid? Somehow I suspect the equipment and level of coverage might not be up to your personal standards. Maybe you'll still have plenty of money to pay 100% out of pocket for quality care from someone who gives a rip after paying the extra single payer healthcare taxes. Most of us won't be so lucky.
