Hey now, sure under Trump the credit rating of the US has been downgraded, and the USDI has tanked, and there's extensive capital flight influencing bond markets... but, the current leader of the US has a long-standing history of being known to totally pay people what they are owed. Pinky swear.
And with all of that, who would trust our word now, considering what we’ve done abroad with regime change through force, and stabbing allies and trading partners in the back … along with the Administration’s claim that we can take whatever we want for any reason?
MAGA doesn’t seem to get that we are working ourselves into a position of non-cooperative isolation overlapping with increased US debt and a move by other nations away from the dollar as the preferred reserve currency, while fostering a growing police state at home and increasing inflation, polarization between citizens and a distrust of leadership by a majority of Americans.
This is not ‘making America great again’. Far from it. MAGA is being played and they’re bringing this Nation down because they’re too emotionally and cognitively compromised to acknowledge their part in it.
I was just listening to BTC commentary* re: Greenland when something popped into my head.
You know how Trump says if we don't step in to protect Greenland that Russia and China will try to occupy Greenland? There's a clip of that inserted right into the BTC video so you can see it again if you haven't already. So here's what popped into my head...
What if Trump already has a backdoor agreement WITH Russia and China to share control of Greenland?
The three countries advance to take over control of the world. Could NATO stand up to invasion by Russia without the United States?

(a) The US has a treaty with Denmark (signed in 1951) that allows the US to establish and maintain military bases in Greenland for the defence of NATO, which of course includes the US.
(b) The US already has one base in Greenland, but could have a lot more if it wanted to. But that one base has been steadily run down over the years by successive US administrations including Trump's until from thousands its complement now totals about 200.
Trump could throw this process into reverse tomorrow if he wanted to. He has all the rights he needs to put all the forces he needs in place to defend the US against any Russian or Chinese incursion.
National security has nothing to do with Trump's threats. He just wants to take other peoples' stuff to reassure himself what a big strong guy he is (even though his hands are on the small side ...)

What does he mean we need Greenland for national security? We had bases in Greenland. I think Thule is still there and active. The Boy got deployed to there years ago for a special assignment. Anyway, so this guy in in the White House's "strategy", and I use the term sarcastically, is that we need to take over Greenland. NOT reestablish our bases there.

It's somewhat encouraging to know that only 17% of Americans approve of Trump's stupid, self-aggrandizing, imperialistic obsession to acquire Greenland, against the wishes of both Greenlanders and Denmark, which currently rules Greenland. What makes it even more insane is that Trump has not ruled out acquiring it by military force, if he can't acquire it by any other means, which would destroy NATO, the most effective peacekeeping alliance in history!
Trump just doesn't care about anything that doesn't directly benefit himself, no matter whom or how many not named Donald Trump are hurt in the process. It is becoming glaringly apparent that He will do his darndest to force cancellation of the 2026 midterm election if he perceives that there is any realistic chance that Republicans might not be able to retain a majority in both the Senate and the House in that election.
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Thanks for that reminder! Trump is certainly the greatest danger to our country and its democracy since the end of the Civil War. Anyone who doubts that is either historically illiterate or hates this country and every noble thing it has ever stood for or accomplished.
