I have a horrible suspicion that the picture of Jesus voting for Trump may have actually been produced with the aim of persuading Christians to follow his example.

Please could you tell me that this is not true, and that the picture was produced purely for satirical purposes?

  1. A lot of the wealthiest and most powerful people appear to either be borderline illiterate, or they allow their emails to be composed by the nearest rodent.
  2. I had always assumed Trump’s destruction of the economy each time he’s been President was due to incompetence. The emails make it appear that his incompetence is being exploited, and that the destruction is more intentional with its primary purposes being the destruction of American democracy and exceptionalism, and to further consolidate power and wealth amongst a group of elite international pedophiles.
  3. Republicans are easily recruited to help destroy America for the benefit of wealthy pedophiles, and are all to happy to defend raping children as long as it's done by someone they think is on their team.
  4. I can’t for the life of me figure out who exactly works for who amongst the pedophile cabal. It’s like a weird web of CIA, Mossad, Russian intelligence, and billionaires. It’s also hard to tell if sexual predation is a recruitment/blackmail tool, or if the power brokering is primarily to protect the hedonism.
  5. Actual evil is, in many ways, incredibly banal.
I'm still waiting to hear your response on why the Biden administration didn't press criminal charges upon Donald Trump if such damning evidence against him existed in the Epstein files. That goes for DocCam as well. Why resort to the mental gymnastics required by the Alvin Bragg case if you had this?
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Would it have made a difference?

Barring a pic of a fully nude Trump smothering someone 1/4 his age under his immense and pallid bulk, would you have cared about any other evidence, or would you just chalk it up to “boys being boys”? Or that an apparition with a flaming sword compelled him, perhaps?

We already have the sexual abuse case, the groping incidents, the gawking at underage girls at beauty contests, the weird sexual remarks about his own daughter, the myriad pics and anecdotes from parties with Epstein and Co., and at least 5300 mentions of his name that haven’t been redacted in just the latest minor release of the files. Why do you think his name is in there so often?

What, if anything, would actually be enough for you?

I'll take "because it was still an active investigation" for $200, Ajax. ;)

As I have said before, I am convinced that this frantic obsession of the already hyper wealthy to increase their wealth and power without limit or restraint is a kind of insanity. Why do these people continually strive to acquire more and more for something that has so often demonstrably failed to satisfy or content them? It is hard for me to think of anything more irrational and stupid than that! It is like an incurable addiction to hard drugs!
Part of the problem is American culture and people idiotically thinking more wealth equals more success.

Real success is finding satisfaction in what you've accomplished, not manically seeking more because you're never satisfied. I think if you can't get enough wealth after accumulating more than you'll ever need, you're broken. Insecure, to say the least.

I know I've told you this before, Gunnar, but I see very little difference between Elon Musk and a dude who can barely navigate his house because of all the garbage bags of junk he can't let go.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense. It's also the favored cover for hypocrites.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.

None of the partisan political prosecution nor convictions and multimillion dollar civil penalties convinced me. It made me more firm in my support of Trump. Surely the left could have predicted this. But that did that stop them from trying it? So why didn't the Biden administration publish and prosecute based on the Epstein files when they were in power and had the chance to do so?

Well, that’s an interesting way to put it. Although the thought of MAGA becoming firmer when thinking about Trump groping women doesn’t surprise me.

Surely the left could have predicted this. But that did that stop them from trying it?
Perhaps ‘the left’ is less concerned with trying to convince you than it is with wanting whatever is in the files to see the light of day. Is that a bad thing?

So why didn't the Biden administration publish and prosecute based on the Epstein files when they were in power and had the chance to do so?
Democrats didn’t seem to be putting in the same efforts years ago as they are now, but there were still attempts to release information. Harris claims that the Biden Administration had no desire to pressure the DoJ with what would appear as a vendetta (https://thehill.com/homenews/administra ... files/amp/).

We’re seeing increased interest now because it was Trump who made the Epstein files a focal point of his campaign as he attempted to leverage the topic into votes. Perhaps the question you should be asking is why the man who promised to you that he would expose this has suddenly turned tail and run from it as soon as your vote to put him back into office was assured. I’ll guess that Trump realizes that his base is very easily manipulated; unfortunately, there’s not enough of it to quell the clamor over this issue now that he has realized that the contents don’t bode well for him with other voters.

I don't know why Christopher Wray didn't pursue the Epstein files. One thing about the Biden administration (well, every administration that has been comprised of normal people with functional ethics), is that the DOJ in general, and the FBI in particular weren't tools to be wielded by the President's whims. They have largely been allowed to operate independently.

All I can do is speculate as to Wray's reasons. He may have assumed that Trump and his enablers weren't as morally bankrupt and irredeemably vile as they are, and assumed the case was already thoroughly investigated. His focus could have been on what he saw as more immediate threats to America in general (counter-terrorism efforts, large scale fraud, etc.).

I'm not sure what it ultimately matters though. Raping kids is wrong. Just because one person dropped the ball doesn't all of a sudden absolve the rapists.

This should be a pretty easy thing for every American to agree on. It's equal parts disgusting and depressing that about a third of America are flailing about trying to protect child rapists.

You have Trump, in his own words, bragging about sexually assaulting women, purposefully walking in on children getting dressed for his own sexual gratification, and sexualizing his own infant daughter on national TV. But sure... all of the stuff that confirms the very things he himself has bragged about on tape is a lie and conspiracy.

It's wild that you believe Trump, except for when it comes time to believe Trump when it's backed by evidence.

Here is my random Epstein files thought:

Do they prove that the conspiracy theorists who insist that the ultra-rich traffic minors for deviant sexual purposes were right all along?
There's definitely some loose evidence that Epstein et.al. took advantage of gullible conspiracy theorists. Between Epstein's and Maxwell's involvement in 4chan's politics page, the bizarre Wayfair order that is unlabeled, and the "Your Pizza is YUMMY YUMMY," and "Lets go for pizza and grape soda again. No one else can understand," certainly teases and a picture being painted.

Psy-op, or just "hey, y'know what would be funny, if we confessed, but blamed it totally on Hollywood liberals".... I guess either is sort of possible.

I call BS on that. They had multiple vendetta and election interference cases that they shamelessly pursued against DJT. Even the smallest half truth in the Epstein files would have been more salacious than any of the election interference cases they pursued.
