RIP Lindsey Graham

On July 12, preliminary findings from the D.C. medical examiner stated Graham died from an aortic dissection caused by arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease
He must have indulged too much in the $93,000,000 feast of steak and lobster and crab legs with The Secretary of Warmongering Pete Kegsbreath.......

I wouldn't know. I do know it's a painful death. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I wouldn't make light of it.

I can't imagine the pain being close to the pain his actions have caused the citizens of this country over his years in the Senate.

That's pretty sad.

It's terribly sad the suffering Graham caused so many in our country. It is a time of rejoicing that some little of the political evil in our country has now been removed...... unfortunately, the Donald is still in power so he can replace Graham with another even more heinous lout, and he has already said he has one in mind.

Shock poll right before Lindsey Graham’s death showed him in tight battle with Democratic challenger

I derive some hope from the fact that Graham had a very narrow and shrinking 3-point lead over his Democrat challenger, Dr. Annie Andrews in the upcoming midterm election.
Impact Research put out a poll on June 30 that Graham held a narrow 3-point lead on Dr. Annie Andrews (D), which was within the survey’s expected margin of error. It’s a remarkably close number for a state that backed Donald Trump by 18 points in 2024.

“Graham only narrowly leads in a head-to-head ballot,” the report said. “Senator Graham starts out below 50%, with a +3 lead overall (45% Andrews / 48% Graham / 7% und), and Graham trails by 22 points among Independents. This continues the tight trajectory we found in March polling, when the race was then at a 5-point margin. Annie Andrews is nudging the needle in her direction, even despite Graham’s early spend to try and save his seat.”

The poll prompted the progressive firm to encourage “national investment” in Andrews, writing, “Any race with an incumbent polling this low and tight is an opportunity for Democrats – and now Graham is on the ballot in a potential wave year without Trump on the ballot to boost GOP turnout. With the proper resources to both defend her values and highlight Lindsey’s weaknesses, we believe Dr. Annie Andrews will put this seat in play and is worth national investment.”
I fervently hope that no other Republican replacement candidate will have a better chance of winning than Graham did.
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Yes, but at least he died before he could do more damage, so thank goodness for small favors.

If he suffered in the end, maybe that was the universe telling him he screwed up as a human. He was a piece of crap, after all. Him suffering for his asshole behavior is a happy thought, but I don't believe it. He died like many humans die, and it's impossible for me to muster any sympathy for someone so destructive to our country. If he were a decent person, I'd likely feel differently.

(Not) sorry if that bothers you. He was a terrible person and our country is better off without him.

It should be noted he was getting a new Russian sanctions package together and basically urging Trump to take Kharg island as a leverage tactic for Iranian negotiations. Couple that with Russian intelligence agents killing targets by inducing heart attacks and you have enough for conspiracy theorists to trot out a new story to spread.

Either way, I was ruminating over coffee with my wife about how much time and effort this man put into his work and reputation, only to be remembered by most as a closeted homosexual shill for Israel and whoever gave him the most money.

I’m sure he has people in his life who’ll miss him, but to me he’s just a man who made life harder for a lot of people. He was a war hawk who was partly responsible for many deaths and untold amounts of misery. Him and his generation of conservatives cannot shuffle off their mortal coils fast enough. I’m glad he’s gone.

Fox showed his sister saying she's taking his seat. But keep in mind that was Fox.

It'll be some idiot puppet of that country that cannot be named that takes over for the warmonger or someone that feigns independence from them but then falls in line.
Myth is misused by the powerful to subjugate the masses all too often.
