But would we be subjecting an already traumatized woman to further trauma carrying the baby of her rapist?
Sure it does. I'd say the rapist subjected the woman to that not the child who is being murdered as a consequence, not society, and not God. I think even the LDS church is pro choice in cases of rape or incest.
Could she be forced to co-parent the child with her rapist? What are the legalities you see in this situation? If the rapist is jailed, there couldn't be child support. Who is going to financially support the child? Is it fair to ask a rape victim to financially support her child alone when she never planned the pregnancy?
What if the rape victim is a minor child? What then, ajax? Who is going to pay for her prenatal care? Her labor and delivery? Who is going to ensure that the minor child, now a mother, completes her education, that the child is cared for while she does that and who pays for the care?
Would you be okay with child care being provided in the schools and would you as a taxpayer be willing to foot your fair share of the bill for that?
I think part of Justice Thomas's reasoning in his concurrence was that these social welfare programs are firmly entrenched and never going away. Whether people like myself agree with them or not doesn't matter since I never have nor ever will have a choice as a taxpayer to pay for it or not. If you're not in favor of imposing your beliefs and morals upon other people, why are you comfortable forcing taxpayers to pay for irresponsible women who choose to have children they cannot afford? Because what the parents did is not the child's fault right?
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.
Nothing in the article, just trust in God and submission to his will for our lives.
So in other words, you just think it's wrong because you think it's wrong, and you're pretending your god has given you some special insight.
This is the problem. People think they know their god's will, when all they've done is assign their own will to their made-up god. And then they have the damned audacity to try to impose their made-up BS rules on everyone else.
Believing in a god is a cultural disease.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense.
Then what was it in the article that led you to answer with such aplomb?

Nothing in the article, just trust in God and submission to his will for our lives.
Is that why my niece has been suffering since she was five and won't live to be 13? Because of God's will? Did you know that 80% of all abortions happen naturally because of natural miscarriage? Is that God's will too?
Genesis says man didn't become a soul until he breathed. Although the Hebrew Bible does not mention abortion, it does talk about miscarriage in Exodus 21:22-25. It imagines the case of men fighting, injuring a pregnant woman in the process. If she miscarries but suffers no additional injury, the penalty is a fine. Since the death of a person would be murder or manslaughter, and carry a different penalty, most rabbinic sources deduce from these verses that a fetus has a different status.
"I am not an American ... In my view premarital sex should be illegal ...(there are) mentally challenged people with special needs like myself- Ajax18
Just to be clear, we're going to strip away liberties from hundreds of millions of adult US citizens and force them to undergo an invasive surgical procedure if needed (C-Section), force them to pay for their own medical costs, and then risk their lives in the process all because a bunch of religious idiots think this is a baby;
So let me make sure I am clear on your position.
No atheists are opposed to abortion.
Did I get that right?

Clarence Thomas writes, in a concurring opinion excerpted on Twitter, that the Supreme Court should reconsider Griswold v. Connecticut, Lawrence V. Texas, and Obergefell v. Hodge — the rulings that currently protect the right to buy and use contraceptives without government restriction, the right to a same-sex relationship, and the right to same-sex marriage.
Just wait till they overturn Brown v Little Rock Board of Education.
Annnnnnnd here we go again... Hope it was all worth it. No chance in hell of preventing a single abortion, but at least you get to go back to your pastors who've been playing you like a fiddle and tell them you did good.
Fun watching all these "Pro-Life" folks show their true colors.
That phony support for law enforcement that Democrats have shown us in the January 6th political theatre didn't last long, did it.
