Which turned out to be one of the funniest thing Adams had written in years.

You are the queen of assumptions, you twat. As usual, I am fully aware that my audience understands the difference. Jesus damned Christ panny.canpakes wrote: ↑Mon Oct 06, 2025 7:32 pmNope. Having authority is one thing. How one chooses to exercise it, is a separate thing.Whiskey wrote: ↑Mon Oct 06, 2025 5:15 pm
Glad we can finally come to terms with that. If you ever have a minute to explain the differences, that would be great. I am fine with this. Same damn thing, occupying the same damn space, with the same damn expectation for more authority. Outcomes, like your usage, may vary. Yep. Same same.
You probably shouldn’t make the assumption that your audience doesn’t understand the difference.

The Leftists being part of the Hates Leftists convergence cracks me up. One of my cousins is a hardcore leftist. His comment sections on Facebook are constantly filled with his leftist friends tearing into him for not being leftist enough, and him tearing into them for being too much of purists when it comes to their leftism.
I always read the interactions, feeling befuddled watching them all hate on each other, even though they are all on the "same side."

Then (a) the actions are what are important. Not so much that random people (b) prefer that government exists and should have some authority.
Back to you, to try to pretend that there’s ‘no difference’ between MAGA/Trump and random Democrats and Republicans because of (b), while ignoring (a).

I have a few leftist friends and know what you mean. They direct a lot of hate towards Democrats, because from their perspective the Ds are every bit as 'Nazi' as the Relief Society but pretend not to be.Doctor Steuss wrote: ↑Mon Oct 06, 2025 8:56 pmBret Ripley wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 10:43 pmThis may also be helpful -- both the Republican and Democratic Parties would occupy space near the center of this diagram:

'Conservatives: Can't Tell Leftists And Liberals Apart' is something we see every day here. This is by no means true of all conservatives, of course, but we have a few posters who seem to fall into the chucklehead spectrum that believes that liberals are generally Marxist.

Yep. And the more one asks about the distinctions, the more it becomes apparent. Not that they are actually Nazis, but that there is no daylight, at all, between the parties when it comes to government. Slightly different outcomes, but same government.Bret Ripley wrote: ↑Mon Oct 06, 2025 9:57 pmbecause from their perspective the Ds are every bit as 'Nazi' as the Relief Society but pretend not to be.
I keep asking for examples of differences in government, none offered. I am becoming more convinced.

Democrats prefer Federal control so that any citizen has access.
Republicans argued for State control so that they had a better chance at denying access.
Which is more authoritarian and/or allows some people to control what others are allowed to do?
Over to you, to avoid the question and to throw another namecalling tantrum.

Re: Master Troll Activated!! Trump Wins!
Example of a leftist view of the Democratic Party: I Hate the Democratic Party, and You Should Too. Whiskey should get a kick out of this.
Snippets:
"The second presidential term of Donald Trump is progressing like an oil spill, with various factions of his administration merging into a formidable and aggressive policy machine, delivering new shock and terror each day — even to those who expect it. A bleary-eyed American populace, still wondering why the Democratic Party has turned losing into an Olympic sport, nonetheless looks to them for some form of opposition."
"The Democratic Party is an organization dedicated to advancing capitalism. Its historical strategy of cautious reformism has never aimed at advancing the working class but rather at providing just enough concessions to keep them in line, depending on the circumstances."
"... the Democratic Party would rather lose everything than unleash the power of the working class."
"... much work remains to put [the Democratic Party] in the dustbin of history. If it is not the Left that finishes them off, it will be the Right."
