K wasn't a member of a rival gang. He was a weenie and no glory for beating the guy up.
But there was glory enough for threatening to kill him, for some reason.
Once owned and separated from his gun, I don't think there would be much incentive to go farther.
There wasn't much incentive to threaten to kill him, but that didn't stop him.
There's more risk legal risk for beating up a much younger kid who doesn't appear to have ties to the street -- gangs, drugs etc.
Umm, I don't think the guy was too worried about "legal risk," considering the types of felony convictions he racked up.

But as someone else pointed out, Mr. Rosenbaum died doing what he loved best: Trying to get his hands on non-consenting minors.

Not at all. How far will you extend your screwed up view of self defense? Let's say you, canpakes, is walking down the street and 2 unarmed individuals come up to you and say, give me your wallet or we're going to Screw you up!!! You're scared, your adrenaline kicks in, you're in fear of being beaten and possibly ending up in the hospital. But you know absolutely nothing about the guys threatening you, they could be really good people in a desperate situation. Maybe they have 3 kids at home starving and need money. All of a sudden one of the guys starts beating you over the head with a 2x4! You're scared you're going to die. What do you canpakes start doing? Are you going to just lay there and take the beating? Or do you fight back?

Does Elvis also appear at some point in this highly tailored scenario of yours?

Stick with ‘school shooter’ or ‘shooter in crowd’, then get back to me.

Hey maybe, just maybe, the rioters shouldn't have caused 50 million dollars in damage to private businesses. Just maybe.
From my point of view, they definitely should not have done so, but I would contend that Kyle Rittenhouse was not the needed remedy. I suspect this verdict will embolden even more vigilante shooters.

So defending businesses, defusing situations, and putting out fires = "dumbf---ery?"
He didn't do any of that. He certainly didn't defuse the situation.
Agreed. Nothing was made better that night after Rittenhouse decided to play militia boy.

I think the fact that rioters managed to cause 50 million dollars in damage, with around 40 businesses completely burned down, surely indicates that police did not have the situation under control and that some form of vigilantism was required to maintain some semblance of order. See my Roof Koreans example above.

The icing on the cake is that the business that Kyle was defending was owned by POC, and that the rioters were burning down the town in the name of 'BLM'. Who is the real white supremacist in this situation? ;)

Is that a deliberate dig at Ajax?

Are you really going to say that the famous Roof Koreans had no right to defend their properties during the LA Riots? They should have laid their arms down and just graciously let the rioters and looters destroy their livelihoods?
If only Kyle had stayed on the roof of his business …

If only none of the rioters were there, if only Rosenbaum didn't charge Kyle, if only, if only, if only. See how easy that is?
