We don't need powerful weapons that aren't necessary to defend your house. Why would you need a hand gun with more than 8 rounds?

You have to pass a written exam. You are then issued a license which must be periodically renewed (with drivers test). This license much be carried on the person operating the automobile.

Why can't we apply this to gun ownership? Before owning and operating a gun, once should have to go through a training course and then pass a test. A license is then issued that allows a person to own and use a firearm. This license must be on the person when in position of a firearm. This is not perfect, but having the requirement of a training course and test would be a good, basic screen.

I would add any conviction for drunk driving, reckless driving, battery probably a whole lot more.

Markk, I would like to see a single case from the last 600 years of Anglo-American law that says a person has an absolute right to own a firearm with no governmental conditions. Thanks in advance.

I never said that, I wrote... the right to bear arms...why did you add "governmental conditions?"

Markk wrote:I don't support co-ed rest rooms in that I would not like some fat old man crapping and farting, or wiggling his penis next to my grand daughter, daughter, and wife...maybe you wouldn't mind, I do. And I would be uncomfortable using the restroom in front of women, young women, and especially little girls.

Would you feel comfortable using the rest room in front of a little girl?

Your argument is just silly.

I think restrooms should be redesigned so that individual toilets are totally enclosed but the entrances are in full view, something like a semi-circle or U of closets open to the larger building with sinks in the middle. An arrangement like this would have made my husband more comfortable when he was out with all our girls from infants in a stroller to grade schoolers, he wasn't welcomed in the women's bathroom and had to trust that no one was taking advantage of the privacy an infrequently used "private room" offered.

Still waiting for an answer Markk! Do laws prohibiting men in the ladies room stop predators and criminals from going there? If yes, then you now know why we need tougher gun control laws.

It is a perfectly valid point! But would laws prohibiting men in ladies room stop predators and criminals? Please answer. If yes, then you now know why we need gun control.

Or simply watch the video so you can understand my point

Your argument is stupid...

No, and laws prohibiting guns won't stop people from shooting/or killing each other. We have laws prohibiting men from using ladies room, and they still do, and we have laws prohibiting guns, and people still find ways of getting guns and shooting others, and finding other ways of killing..and all the laws in the world won't stop pervert from getting jolly's watching women, or exposing themselves.

by the way...I never once said we do not need certain gun controls, please do not state what I never said...go back to my post to DrW and focus on what my point was. Which by the way you are proving; that most people that advocate stricter gun controls are completely ignorant of the issues.

Do you really believe this is some kind of smoking gun argument for gun control...no pun attended.

And when men are allowed in women restrooms, where is the privacy? I get what you are saying but it is a catch 22.

Places like home depot, Disneyland and other high volume places have family restrooms, that allow a father to take is daughter to the restroom. Which works fine. Smart businesses will use this design in my opinion.

One day they tell you you have to record the deed to your house at the county recorder's office, and next thing you know, the Bolsheviks are rolling in.

The deed to my house?!? From my cold, dead hands...
