Nope. I’m the standard-bearer. If everyone voted the way I do, then the best, least corrupt, and most qualified candidate would always win.
You say that you always thought he was “slimy,” but you’re perfectly willing to vote for slime, thus further enabling the sliminess. Congratulations! You get what you vote for.
Yeah, if only everyone could agree on the identity of that wonderful person.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”

At least it wouldn’t be either the most corrupt or second-most corrupt person, wouldn’t you agree?

I’m still waiting to find out what makes Biden anywhere close to being as corrupt as a rapist with 34 felony convictions.

I didn’t say he was equally corrupt. I said “second-most” corrupt.
So Shades, is it safe to assume that you won't be voting for either candidate?
If so, let me ask you this question: if you were going to be tortured by electrocution or by water boarding, and you were given the choice to choose which of those two you'll be getting, would you think to yourself, "Meh... I don't condone either one, so I'll let others make the choice for me?"
I mean, you might argue, What difference does it make? but I think having a say is better than not. Maybe that's just me.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense.
I didn’t say he was equally corrupt. I said “second-most” corrupt.
So who passes your purity test, Shades? Anyone relevant who has a chance to win? Anyone who is otherwise qualified? Or just some yo-yo who has roughly the same experience Trump had the first time he effed up?

Correct.

The Libertarian candidate. Although I will examine the platform of the Constitution Party candidate before November.

No, no, and no.
So, you will cast your vote for Chase Oliver, a former restauranteur who has never been elected to public office once.
Sigh.
This is why we can't have nice things.

He's been elected to public office just as many times as George Washington was elected to public office (prior to becoming president).
Sigh.
This is why we can't have nice things.
We can just as easily say "this is why we can't have nice things" because you keep voting for people who are institutionalized, are familiar with all the grifts, and owe their political buddies favors.
We've been doing it your way for as long as you've been alive, and look where it's gotten us. What's the definition of "insanity," again?

I hope you recognize that it takes different talents to lead a small startup than it does to guide the helm of a Fortune 100 corporation.
George Washington?

I don't like politics because politics is politics. It is similar to that old saying of Churchill: "Democracy is the worst form of government except for all others."
Complex institutions require people who understand them to run them. Successful political action in a republic requires social connections and compromises. People who do not appreciate any of the above want quick, easy solutions that do not exist.
Voting for Trump is to seek quick, easy solutions that do not exist. Voting for candidates who have no real experience of statesmanship is a token of the same failure of understanding.
