So when you say policy advocates don't understand the issues, you're really saying that policy advocates don't understand that they have to eradicate all forms of murder completely, or they failed, and we're better off doing nothing.

We have laws prohibiting men from using ladies room, and they still do, and we have laws prohibiting guns, and people still find ways of getting guns and shooting others, and finding other ways of killing..and all the laws in the world won't stop pervert from getting jolly's watching women, or exposing themselves.

by the way...I never once said we do not need certain gun controls, please do not state what I never said...go back to my post to DrW and focus on what my point was. Which by the way you are proving; that most people that advocate stricter gun controls are completely ignorant of the issues.

You keep arguing opposites. It makes no sense to argue gun control laws don't work and then argue we need some. Make specific arguments and why they will work or not.

The privacy is in the completely enclosed stalls or closets.

It works in Ireland.

A question for the legal eagles.

Is ammunition considered part of the Second Amendment in the same way that guns are?

If not, maybe it would be easier for the US to do something akin to Switzerland with ammunition and black powder (permit process, mental health report, criminal background report, etc.), or maybe add an additional twist. Like, make lethal ammunition not only regulated, but heavily taxed. Then have non-lethal ammunition that would still be regulated, but less expensive (for target practice, and the like).

Granted, there might be black-market bullets, and it’ll take time for the nutter stockpiles to disappear, but it might make a small difference if someone has to go through a background check, and a permit, and (potentially) pay a hefty tax if they want to kill something/someone. This way, everyone still gets to modify and stroke their guns at night.

Just spit-balling.

Do you really believe this is some kind of smoking gun argument for gun control...no pun attended.

No, I simply like to point contradictions. It is interesting that you didn't answer my question. Do you think US laws stop predators and criminals from going to the ladies room? If yes, why not think the same about gun laws?

Let me tell you my best arguments on why strict gun control laws are necessary

1. None of the mass shooters in the past five years have used an illegal automatic rifle of high capacity. Why? probably because it is not easy to buy illegal automatic rifles.

2. People don't need rifles or powerful guns of many rounds to defend their homes

3. There is no gun addiction (not medically), so illegal guns probably won't be on high demand like drugs are.

4. Statistically guns do more harm than good. A peer-reviewed study found "Guns kept in homes are more likely to be involved in a fatal or nonfatal accidental shooting, criminal assault, or suicide attempt than to be used to injure or kill in self-defense." For every gun used in self-defense, there are four unintentional shootings, seven criminal assaults or homicide, and eleven attempted or completed suicides.

All you need is a handgun to defend your home from invaders. Obviously not a handgun capable of killing many people in less than one minute.

Switzerland and Israel also have compulsory military service requirements. If that is the condition the NRA and gun rights advocates are willing to accept as part of their argument, cool.

The privacy is the same place as it is in your own home. A door, a lock, and walls. Don't travel to Europe, Markkkk.
