Learned something new about the symbolism in today's country's flag since it begged to be looked into.

Got today's Worldle wrong. Another case of getting to the right continent and then my pitiful ignorance of it's geography kicked in.
It also serves as an example of why I reference a map afterward. Once I was shown the answer I still wouldn't have been able to pinpoint it on a map other than due to it's shape. So when I'm ignorant like that I think it's beneficial to both locate it and get a better understanding of the general area around it. And there have been more than a few times now where that's made a future question answerable either on the Worldle or on Globle.

Besides data like highest point and approximate size, I find myself wishing that various other clues were also given--things like dominant religion, major exports, ethnic groups, etc. Not that these would especially help me to pinpoint the country, but they might teach me something additional.honorentheos wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 12:20 pmGot today's Worldle wrong. I did eventually get today's country, but it was a painful experience.

I try to use flags and the name of the highest point to see if I can infer something about the demographics but I hear you. It would be kinda of cool just as an infographic that is given after a correct guess or failure.Morley wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 12:54 pmBesides data like highest point and approximate size, I find myself wishing that various other clues were also given--things like dominant religion, major exports, ethnic groups, etc. Not that these would especially help me to pinpoint the country, but they might teach me something additional.honorentheos wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 12:20 pmGot today's Worldle wrong. Wednesday, June 01: I knew exactly what it was by its shape so I got it on my very first "guess." Does that make me cool?

Unfortunately for many a geek, being cool usually has more to do with how one behaves than what one knows.Dr. Shades wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 9:49 amWednesday, June 01: I knew exactly what it was by its shape so I got it on my very first "guess." Does that make me cool?

Not exactly. It could have helped but you flubbed the move after scoring the points.Dr. Shades wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 10:17 amSo I guess the answer is "No?"honorentheos wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 10:13 amUnfortunately for many a geek, being cool usually has more to do with how one behaves than what one knows.

I wasn't very confident about my first guess but it turned out to be right. I'll take it.
