If there’s one thing Donald Trump and his allies want you to know about what’s happening in Ukraine right now, it’s that it wouldn’t be happening if he were still in charge.
If only he actually knew what was happening.
Trump opted to appear on Fox News Channel on Wednesday night shortly after Russia announced that it would attack Ukraine. And not for the first time, he seemed woefully unfamiliar with the particulars of an issue of massive import. Trump at one point seemed to think that the United States had suddenly decided to go to war with Russia.
Midway through the interview, Laura Ingraham noted that “we are just learning that U.S. officials are looking at a potential amphibious landing now in Odessa, Ukraine.” The clear implication was that this was Russia engaging in the potential amphibious landing as part of its attack, but Trump took it as the United States itself “looking at” such an action.
After Ingraham broached the topic, the interview cut away to what was happening at the United Nations. When she returned to her guest, he was ready to use the report to go after one of his favorite targets: those same “U.S. officials.”
“Well, I think the whole thing, again, would have never happened. It shouldn’t happen. And it’s a very sad thing,” Trump said. “But you know what is also very dangerous is, you told me about the amphibious attack by Americans, because you and everyone else shouldn’t know about it. They should do that secretly, not being doing that through the great Laura Ingraham. They should be doing that secretly. Nobody should know that, Laura.”
Ingraham quickly cut in and emphasized that this wasn’t, in fact, what Fox was reporting.
“No, those are the Russian — the Russian amphibious landing,” Ingraham said.
“Oh, I thought you said we were sending people in,” Trump said.
“No, I did not. No, no. No, no, no,” Ingraham replied. “That would be news.”

The Pentagon has strongly denied Russian claims that it assisted Ukraine in a navy operation near Zmiinyi Island.
John Kirby, press secretary for the Pentagon, said the US did not provide intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance or other support. Russia had earlier claimed otherwise.
“Chalk this up to just one more lie by the Russian ministry of defense,” Kirby said in a tweet.
Zmiinyi Island, also known as Snake Island, was the site of a valiant last stand by Ukrainian soldiers on Thursday.
The soldiers died defending the Black Sea island from an air and sea bombardment, and reportedly told an officer on board a Russian navy warship to “go “F” yourself” when asked to surrender.

The only living former president who could possibly have "thought that". Putin and Xi would be really scared.

It's a bad idea to stand ground in Kyiv, a capital is just a building. WWPD?
If Russia were being invaded, would Putin be standing in front of St. Basil's Cathedral saying "come and get me?"
I think that Zelenskiy is the person best placed to decide what he needs to do for Ukraine.
But if I was in his place, I would tend to feel a little silly high-tailing it to a place of safety while simultaneously urging the civil population to fight to the death for the defence of their capital city (which they care about rather a lot). And large numbers of men of all ages are currently standing in line to get issued with arms so they can respond to that call.
I mean, how did the head of state running away work in Afghanistan? Not so well, I recall.
I agree that Zelensky is the best person positioned to know what he needs to do for his country. He knows Russian, he knows the mindset , the history, and assets he's up against. You know if push came to shove though, and if he eventually really wanted to “F” with the Russians couldn't he easily toggle back and forth over the border between Ukraine and Poland and basically say..."You want me? Go ahead and cross this line and come get me." ?
Don't come for me. I'm just a girl from Jersey!

His error not withstanding, he's right. He's absolutely right. None of this would have ever happened under his watch. He would have kissed Putin's ring, kissed his ass, then praised him for his genius and turned a blind eye to Ukraine entirely because “F” them.

Yeah, every word of this is nonsense and fake as hell.
Snake island - they are alive and they surrendered.
All those claims from the Ukrainians, also just unverified.
But, at least this cured covid and the Canadian Enabling Act.

What about that NY Post report that Trump told Putin if he went into Ukraine Trump would hit Moscow?

Ukraine military says soldier blew himself up on bridge to halt Russian advance
Excerpt:
Skakun placed mines on the bridge and told his fellow soldiers that he was blowing up the bridge. The bridge blew up before Skakun was able to run away, and he died in the explosion.
“His heroic deed significantly slowed the advance of the enemy, which allowed the unit to redeploy and organize the defense,” wrote the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of Skakun in a Facebook post.
Skakun’s death allowed the rest of the soldiers to prepare for the oncoming Russians and saved the Ukrainian military time and ammunition.
