Google A.I......The red balloon can evoke feelings of hope, imagination, and childlike wonder, often representing purity and freedom. In the film The Red Balloon (1956), the balloon is a symbol of innocence and fantasy, contrasting with the harsh realities of the world. It can also be seen as a representation of childhood, its loss, and the enduring possibility of holding onto that part of ourselves.
Wiki: The film, set in post-World War II Paris, features a dark and grey mise-en-scène that adds a somber tone to the setting and mood. In contrast, the bright red balloon serves as a symbol of hope and light throughout the film.[2] The cluster balloon ride in the final scene can also be interpreted as a religious or spiritual metaphor. For example, when the balloon is destroyed, its "spirit" seems to live on through all the other balloons in the city, which some view as a metaphor for Christ.[3] Themes of self-realization and loneliness are also present in the film.[4] Additionally, the theme of innocence is a central focus, as the film shows how a cynical world is transformed into a magical one through the eyes of a child, highlighting the power of innocence and imagination.[5]
Author Myles P. Breen has identified thematic and stylistic elements in the film that reflect the qualities of poetry. Breen supports this view by quoting film theorist Christian Metz, who states, "In a poem, there is no story line, and nothing intrudes between the author and the reader." Breen categorizes the film as a "filmic poem," partly due to its loose, non-narrative structure.[
Well, it is duct tape. There is great value in a piece of duct tape...
Of course the tape and banana need to be replaced every couple weeks. Maybe an owner need demonstrate financial resources to maintain the upkeep expenses.
Well, you have to admit that as far as repulsive and disgusting art goes, it’s not that bad.
No, I admit no such thing. It sucks.
So, why mention me in the same post as such a painting?
Shades, a bit back in discussing perspective you advised thinking of how your subject would appear in a photo and painting it that way. I did not say at the time but I see sense in your advice. The method is direct, avoids too much theory, and goes directly for how eyes and light work. A tip of the hat to your wisdom. I do not wish to push you to like this painting. It does not exactly ask a person to like it and it is intentionally made to look unlike a photo even though quoting the well known playboy images.
I did wonder about the awkward legs, then had the odd thought that she is on her toes so would not be a model doing a pose but be from a photograph. Various ways a photo is used to contradict the photo. Well, a person may or may nor like the result, but the artist was completing what she intended.
Clearly this was part of a money-laundering scheme by the very wealthy.
Hi Shades, clearly prices like these are very artificial. I imagine there are multiple factors going on. Multiple entities invest in inflating the price as money is made in making the transactions. Perhaps its a gamble to know when to sell before the price starts to fade.
I certainly would not reject money laundering. It is clearly a party for people with lots of extra money. I do not understand the laundering process for enormous high visibility purchases. You likely have a better understanding of laundering than I. I imagine an investigator wondering so and so has an extra 6 million to buy art, where did all that money come from?
