I understand why you tried again to moderate the profanity thread, brother panny. The still small voice tells you that you can lie and insult anyone you want for any reason, but if someone tells you to “F” off, that is worse. It is not. It is the right thing to do.

That’s how the initial split formed; I was having fun seeing how long he would continue to reply even to posts that had no reason or content to be replied to. After a point, the actual point failed to land and it seemed that the spam content was hitting critical mass. : D

As a moderator I maintained a personal policy of never taking mod action on a thread in which I was a participant. Never did it. Not once, not ever. Why? To avoid the appearance of personal bias. Mull that over and see if it's something you guys might want to consider developing within the team.

That’s generally a sound approach. Unfortunately, both Xeno and Shades may be unavailable for days.

It should be no secret to anyone just who does the heavy lifting around here and anyone who has moderated will tell you it's no easy task to juggle both hats as poster/moderator.

1. Keep going like a broken record idiot talking to no one.
2. Or stop because you've withdrawn your attention.
3. Board stalk you out of revenge.

If he follows you to other threads, same thing. Withdraw. Keep a record of his board stalking you. You can put it in the Mod Forum* for documentation.

If you choose that strategy and now that he knows what it is (and Hound knows because he's on this thread), your withdrawal serves as a type of warning because if he doesn't stop board stalking and doesn't shut up, he knows that a potential ruling is on the way and that's on him.

for what it's worth I think you do an excellent job of modding. I wanted to address these issues publicly so we could get to this ^^^point where a possible strategy was spelled out in no uncertain terms. If you choose to employ it, the poster(s) in question will recognize it when you go silent and what your purpose is for doing so.

In this way, whatever happens from this point on is their choice as well as is a potential mod ruling. They can fall in line or lose their place in it. Both posters are quite capable of doing a decent job of it here. I know it. I've seen it.

Again. You are such a damned liar. One has to wonder what are the pathological fuckednesses in your head. I am not a last word kinda fellow, dummy. I am an asshole. I will assertively and sometimes aggressively, address your lies and distortions. The irony here is that you were cutting up threads and leaving YOUR POST AS THE LAST WORD with some screwed up insult or jab at me. If I responded, which I do, you hacked the thread and left your insult as the last word.

Stop lying. Stop pretending that your imaginary conclusions are factual. And take Jersey's advice: stop moderating threads, in any way, when you are part of the thread.

Respectfully, no. That doesn’t match the reality of what has been happening. Not even close.

Your list assumes the “stalking” is coming toward panny. It isn’t. The problem has been the reverse. The pattern is panny inserting himself into threads by posting about the poster instead of the topic. And when you make a person — not the subject — the focus of your posts, you are going to get a reaction. Sometimes assertive, sometimes annoyed, sometimes just flat-out rude. But it is a reaction to his behavior, not some unprovoked fixation from anyone else.

If you want to see the actual dynamic, go back through his posts and look for the ones that do not make another poster the subject of the conversation. They’re rare. That’s the issue. The constant needling, the constant reframing of discussion into commentary about other users, and then moderating the reactions to the very behavior he created.

And to be fair, it looks like that’s being addressed now, so credit where it’s due.

When panny sticks to the thread topic rather than the posters, things go smoothly. But when he’s in the mode of “let me tell you what this person really thinks,” or dropping another personal jab, it derails everything. That’s not “stalking from others.” That’s provocation by the moderator.
