No, I've never driven out there. But I have driven in L.A., so I know what really bad traffic is like. You're right, Utah shouldn't be complaining about bad traffic YET.

I think most of the complaints here though have related to the horrible drivers. In my experience, they're worse than anywhere else in the US (in my limited experience of driving in L.A., Chicago, Denver, S.L.C.).

I don't want to argue with you- because I like you and I know what you are saying but I've driven in Denver, New York City, Paris and across the country many times, etc. And it seems that no matter where I live that the locals always say they are the worst place for driving. In Denver- I heard that constantly! Those Denverites really complained a lot about road rage. In D.C. I heard that people could not drive worth a darn and all the locals complained about the condition of the roads. In Paris, I was warned about the crazy drivers. The people I stayed with got into 2 car accidents in the 1 month that I was there. Don't get me started about New York City! All I'm saying is I don't know who takes the cake for being the WORST. Because frankly, everywhere has bad drivers. I really am not trying to be difficult though! LOL! Anyways, just yesturday I was sitting at a light- the green arrow came and the people in front of me just sat talking to each other- I waited for a second- then I tapped the horn a little- not a lot- not like I layed on the horn- it was a -honk- that's it. And guess what- the lady gave me the finger. So yeah- people are JERKS and Utah JERKS are especially annoying!

That may be partly true, but I go to L.A. and Chicago quite often, and i'm always amazed at how much better the drivers are there. Then i come back to salt lake, and i'm like 'wow, what a bunch of a-hole drivers'.

but yeah, we may have over-exaggerated how bad the driver's are here in utah.

Sure there's heavy traffic during rush hour- but it's NOTHING compared to driving on 495, I-95 or anywhere near D.C. I remember being stuck in traffic there constantly. At midnight on a Tuesday- I would be sitting in traffic. Sometimes it would take 30 minutes to inch a mile.I HATED it. So I don't get people who complain about the rush hour "traffic" here. From my perspective it's just fine. As far as drivers being rude- I guess so- but I think there are rude drivers everywhere- And courteous drivers everywhere. I have seen both. I'd say it's about 50/50.

Hi sailgirl7. I lived in Silver Spring for a couple years, before coming to Europe.

The beltway was a nightmare, expecially at rush hour, to be sure. Downtown D.C. was pretty scary at times as well. I guess, because there are so many people there, that I took it as a given that the traffic would be terrible. It's all relative, to be sure.
Thanks for all the statistics.

Everyone come to Germany. The autobahn is great. Very good drivers. Hardly ever see any accidents. Oh how I wish I had my dreamcar (Porsche 9-11, '68). I'd never want to work. LOL

Or I'd settle for the '69 Camaro Z28 !

I'd love to come to Deutschland but my German is terrible- I forgot most of what I learned in school! :)

P.S. Sorry for derailing the thread Jersey Girl!

Guten Tag, right back to you.

Yes, that is the one, except I would prefer silver, or even black.

My German is terrible, but I get by here. Come and visit anytime, really!
