Interesting. So she's already overworked and they think by slapping on study requirements that she'll be more efficient? Well, of course they're looking for a way to squeeze her out. Is she salaried? Does she get paid Old Testament?
I think no matter how small the shop is, if it's all managed by one IT person (no outsourcing), then you're not going to get competent help for less than that.

Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.
LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

I'm salaried at 38k, with no formal schooling in networking/internet, but 8 years applied experience. . . as a Tier 1 support agent.
That's in Utah, (which is notoriously underpaid for IT jobs).
62k for a Network/Sys Admin? Unless you are in Utah (or a college), You guys are pretty lucky you found someone desperate enough to stoop that low.
The only network/sys admin I know that doesn't make at least 75, works for the college up in Montana, part time. And even he makes 50k.

Scottie, this site has some good information regarding salary averages using SLC as a base:

Now that we're all curious, you're going to have to tell us if she actually gets fired.
