Im curious who here thinks the charges against Stone are all that serious and if those charges will actually bear any fruit whatsoever?

Paragraph 12 of the indictment says an official believed to be Steve Bannon was instructed to contact Stone. How many people were above Bannon?

The first release of the wikileaks emails came out hours after the Access Hollywood tapes were released. It immediately ate into the press coverage of that explosive story. For people who insist that Russian espionage did not and could not have altered the election outcome, this is one of those facts that makes that assertion seem impossible to say with any kind of confidence.

It looked coordinated for maximum effectiveness at the time, and this indictment is strongly hinting that it was.

The trickles of information coming out of this indictment, like all the others, are strongly suggestive of even more damaging information in the wings. Mueller can find crimes, but at some point Congress is going to have to protect us from high crimes and misdemeanors.

I can see the so called civil libertarian has no problem with Mueller sending 29 men with automatic rifles on a predawn raid to arrest an unarmed middle aged man when standard procedure would have been to just ask his lawyer to have him surrender. And how did CNN know to be there with cameras?

Roger Stone has repeatedly made threats that he'd go down guns ablazing when law enforcement came for him. He's done so in braggadocios videos while shooting weapons. On the list of people that it is necessary to raid, people like him are near the top. I still don't think he needed to face an armed raid, but if anyone's a candidate, it's him.

(It wasn't Mueller who sent that raid, but whatever.)

I just want to know what actually triggered the raid. Typically the Bureau doesn't do something like that unless there was some sort of preceding causal factor.

Think of it this way, Ajax. You're a High Value Target in Iraq. The Delta Force is definitely coming for you. They're lining up their assets, and making coordination to come getcha. And then all of a sudden an informant let's their intel assets know you just met with a group of Syrian assets, and you're getting ready to leave the country in the middle of the night. Arrangements are being made as we speak.

This triggers a command decision to move now, and instead of a nab and grab a whole contingent of tier one and two assets show up with their dicks swinging. Why? Because they're not sure who's actually there and what kind of resistance will be offered.

Violent fantasies aside, it most likely has to do with surprising him, and ensuring he doesn't destroy any evidence that's being gathered. I'm sure the FBI had a warrant to execute a search and seizure and just needed to lock the area down.
