Oh. Well then who the hell knows?

You'll be able to see it all; I'm sure of it, Jersey Girl. In fact, I predict you get sick of seeing it all.

I dunno. She's smart in her commentary about somethings and then she goes off into a ditch of confusing I don't know what you call it.

Anyway, feel free to use this thread for other comments related to the hearings.

Okay another live stream I was about to listen to is already underway so...I'll watch the replay. In the mean time...

can they legally compel Trump to testify in person at the hearings? Does he have a legal way out of testifying in person?

To the best of my recollect, Clinton had to testify and Nixon bailed just before that could happen with him.

So will we see President in the hot seat? Or does that happen at some other time?

I don't mean to besmirch Baher. I'm just saying that if she used the term "digital TV" it's totally up in the air what she meant.

Thanks Jersey Girl. This seems like a good place to talk about the efficacy of the public hearings.

Expect Rep. Jim Jordan to be the frontrunner for the Most Dramatic Diva role at next year's Emmy Awards.

I wasn't paying anywhere near the same attention to the process then as I am now, but wasn't Clinton's testimony during the Starr investigation? I'd have thought Mueller would have done that, although this hearing for is for a completely different matter for which there is no independent investigation.

If the executive branch is saying nobody in the administration can testify, you know for sure Trump won't do it himself. Congress can ask, but unless they bring him in Hannibal Lecter style, I don't see him testifying.

Oh I don't know about that. When something captures my interest or ignites a passion, I'll follow it for long periods of time. For example, I follow multiple murder cases. One in particular had ignited my passions and I've been following it like it's my job for almost a year now. You guys have only seen vague random references to it in my post but I've collected extensive blow by blow detailed documentation on it and still doing it.

I'd like to see Trump held accountable for his actions. I mean like I want to see him squirm in the hot seat, slurring his words and spouting narc word salad trying to wiggle out of it and shift blame to someone else. And then, if he's guilty...I'd like to see his butt nailed to the wall in full public view.

Cause that's how I roll. ;-)

I can't believe some of these folks whose comments I've read. Example, Nikki Haley's recent statement to the effect that the Ukraine investigation didn't happen, he never received information on Hunter Biden, they handed over the assistance so what's the point since there was no quid pro quo.

:surprised:

Are you serious? If some guy tries to murder another guy, the guy still gets charged with attempted murder and the point is that Trump tried to make the deal and threw it right on the table while folks were listening in. He to-this-day refers to "read the transcript". It was never a transcript to start with. We've yet to see the actual transcript of the call.

Do these people who have or currently hold high positions in gov't have any brains at all? Do they think we're all stupid or something? I mean look at that Jim Jordan guy. He's the biggest joke on the block. A 4th grader could take him on, I swear.

Heck, **I** could take him on.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. It is painfully obvious one of two things is true:

- Republican politicians, given their experience, think their base is made up of complete morons. We know this because they treat them like morons.
- Republican politicians themselves are that damned stupid

I suspect every GOP pol sits somewhere on a spectrum between these two conditions.

And yes on Jordan. When he comes on the news I switch it off. He's a totally corrupt idiot.

I cheated and saw some highlights on CNN's website. They do basically minute to minute updates. I usually begin my news day on CNN's website because they have a ton of headlines listed and then I go hunting stuff down. Here's another example of what we were talking about. And my immediate response to it.

“I don’t know about you, but it’s hard for me to stay awake and listen to all of this.” ~Mark Meadows

What? What? You're having trouble staying AWAKE and listening to "all of this"? What are you a middle schooler? This is your damn JOB, buddy. This is what you get flippin' PAID to do. Do your JOB you lame excuse!

Color me not impressed.
