Nah. I just listened to everything he said, as opposed to trying, as you have, to pretend that Phillips is talking about Trump or alleged support of him (he isn’t), or that Phillips is in 100% support of Musk’s approach (he isn’t).

He states, at 2:30 with regard to the DoD, “I do find it interesting Mr. Musk hasn’t started with the single biggest source of waste ... that’s where the biggest savings will be found.”

Good points are also made at 3:30 through 3:50, where Phillips makes his “where’s the beef?” comment.

I suggest that folks watch the video. Phillips is talking sense.
I have finally come to realize who you bring to mind. You resemble the Ward Radio of progressive ideals. Or more precisely, the Cardin Ellis of progressivism. To you, progressivism can do no wrong.
Strange. There was no mention of progressives or progressivism in my post, nor reference to any particular thing that could be regarded exclusively as ‘progressive’. Unless you believe that rooting out fraud and/or waste from the DoD budget is ‘progressivism’?

Well, good for the progressives, then. Right? : D

Yep, you are definitely asleep at the wheel. That I'll buy.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.

Seasoned politicians and bureaucrats are the very individuals who have led us into over 30 trillion in debt, do you really believe they can find a way to resolve it? If that's the case, you're merely assisting me in clarifying what I've consistently stated regarding the detrimental effects of progressivism.
Are you for real? Is this account some kind of bizarre A.I.?

Here is the way you take care of a lot of our financial problems as a country:

1. Force the Department of Defense to pass an audit.

2. Raise taxes on the wealthy.

3. Raise the cap on social security, so that the wealthy contribute more than they have.

4. Streamline government operations where it is can be responsibly done.
We are losing the youth vote to the Republican Party, and if we continue to oppose DOGE, we will never win another election. Young individuals aspire to save money, purchase a home, and invest in their future. They are weary of listening to how we old timers have burdened them with over 30 trillion in debt. They are indifferent to whether it's the Republicans or Democrats who resolve the debt crisis, their primary concern is simply that it gets resolved.
If we continue to oppose DOGE?

Dude, you are hilarious. Most of the country is not happy about DOGE, dude. That is what the polls are saying.

Young people cannot afford property for reasons that have nothing to do with the federal government. Wage stagnation is the fault of corporate greed, not the government. Cutting taxes has only a limited positive impact on the economy. We are way past stimulating the economy through tax cuts. You support bankrupting the country in the name of padding the already stuffed pockets of the wealthiest people in America.

That is NOT helping.

If young people believe it is helping, they are sorely mistaken.

I think one thing we have learned through all of this is that you can't fix stupid. I don't rejoice in that, believe me. But you really have to be dumb to buy the idea that Trump's massive tax cut and irresponsible slash and burn approach to cutting government spending will lead to financial benefits for young people. Really dumb.

I still stoutly maintain that anyone adamantly opposed to DEI and being woke either doesn't understand the real and original meaning and intent of those terms or is a hateful bigot.

No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Amen to that!! Especially the part I highlighted! How can anyone really believe that granting trillions of dollars in tax cuts to the Ultra-wealthy individuals and corporations, who neither need nor deserve tax cuts, is a good idea?

My take on this, which I don’t think is going to be popular, is that Woke is the term that right-wingers chose to represent the censorious circular firing squad of the Progressive movement. Republicans have opened their arms wide to every crazy out there and let them be as crazy as they wanna be. Progressives want to reform everyone who enters the fold or kick them out if they don’t pass muster.

Progressive censoriousness is probably not a winning strategy.

Some of the ridiculous prices paid to defense contractors do need to be cost controlled.

This week Musk will make all Federal employees wear a gray W (worker) on the outside of their apparel. This is to distinguish them from the Trump staff (especially during the Afternoon of the Long Knives... pre-WWII reference).

In yesterday's speech, the President noted that himself and DOGE have no idea that transgenic and transgender aren't the same thing.

Cutting invaluable disease and cancer research because they are morons. America sure seems great.
