Markk, if you'd been paying attention, you'd know that I've already written about this. About a year ago, I started what turned out to be a lengthy thread about why I thought Biden should withdraw from the race. You can look it up if you wish.Markk wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 2:50 pmHi Morley,Morley wrote:Markk, I'll see your condescending 'One more time" and raise you one.
I'm not discussing why I thought Biden should not have run again. I'm talking about your suggestion that we should all have trusted Fox News.
Your inference is that we all should have listened to Fox News because they were right about Biden's decline. (Though I'm not at all sure that they were indeed right at the early dates when they started carping--for argument's sake, I'll concede the point that they may have been right this time.)
My rejoinder is that even a stopped clock is occasionally right--and Fox News has been a stopped clock for most of this century. They have not only reported the news wrong, they have often done so knowingly and fraudulently. Like the child who calls wolf too many times, they've lost all credibility except among Donald Trump's most ardent sycophants.
Let's say that you have a creepy uncle who always tries to get you to invest in his failing and fraudulent businesses. Just because, years later, he finally gets a profitable bitcoin scheme going doesn't mean you should have been listening to him all along.
So no, we should have not paid attention to what Fox News was saying.
I am not sure why you are hesitant to say why you thought that Biden should not have run again. My guess is that you, like most of the rest of the world saw that he was in mental decline; like the right wing media was seeing even before he won the presidency in 2020. My guess is also that you understand that if you were to be open here with that reason, then it would be a very personal example for you that Fox news and other right wing agencies got his mental decline correct.
Morley, In regard to the right wing media, and Fox news, I am not asking you to like, respect, watch, listen to, or that you should have trusted them. I am just stating that they got his obvious decline correct, very early, while the left wing did not, and now I will add that you concede that Fox news, like a blind squirrel finding a nut, was correct for 5 years or more that Biden was in mental decline.
So given your conceding this, and left wing media and left wing politicians admitting it one way or another, can you also concede that there very well could have been a cover up for his mental health by both the White House and the media?
by the way, you mentioned the WSJ....I would argue they are neither right wing or left wing, and that they are corporation wing, but in regard to your earlier comment.... https://www.Facebook.com/SkyNewsAustral ... 984415693/
That I'm limiting my discussion with you to the one point of Fox News credibility shouldn't surprise you. I'm not interested in negotiating the ever-evolving labyrinth of your musings about Biden and what you call 'the left wing.'
That said, do I think outlets like the NYTimes and The Atlantic should have been a little harder on Biden? Absolutely. Many at those papers have acknowledged the same. However, that's not the same as engaging in a coverup conspiracy.

Instead of linking to the relevant WSJ article, you're linking to some random Australian TV station commenting about what they think the WSJ wrote. That I'm required to hack my way through opinions about opinions is one of the reasons I'm not willing to discuss this stuff with you.Markk wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 2:50 pmby the way, you mentioned the WSJ....I would argue they are neither right wing or left wing, and that they are corporation wing, but in regard to your earlier comment.... https://www.Facebook.com/SkyNewsAustral ... 984415693/

Sky news is reputable and said to be fair, and it actually shows what folks outside the US are seeing and thinking.
Fox got it right, and you conceded that as their being lucky like a broken clock. You conceded by point they got it right....even if you will not concede the left got it wrong. I am okay with that, I'll take what I can get these days.

Re: #1 NYT best seller "Original Sin"
All that Fox did was play the obvious odds in repeatedly stating for over half a decade that a fellow as old as Biden may eventually see cognitive decline as he continues into his eighties, and then waiting it out.
Any other claim of yours would need to be supported by aligning Fox’s first claims with some sort of observable report that confirmed a problem at the time.
Folks make the same comment about Trump now, arguably with good reason if you have to spend any time listening to his taco word salads. He lies uncontrollably, and is unable to effectively bargain with either Putin or Xi, as example, and comes away from every encounter with his arse whipped. Does this mean that he’s naturally ineffective outside of his old world of NYC real estate, or is now increasingly mentally compromised? Hard to say, but it’s a guarantee that he’ll continue to get worse. You’ll probably never be able to pinpoint the exact moment that it will be problematic for whatever reason you’ll give (something you haven’t been able to do with Biden, either), and some folks would never accept such a conclusion anyway. But when it happens, who will you point to and proclaim was ‘right’ about it, and why?

If you really believe that fine cakes. If you don't want to believe what Democrat insiders are saying that is also fine.canpakes wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 7:33 pmAll that Fox did was play the obvious odds in repeatedly stating for over half a decade that a fellow as old as Biden may eventually see cognitive decline as he continues into his eighties, and then waiting it out.

Are those the same Democrat insiders that were running the country for Biden?
You seem to trust their story, so you should have no problem with the results of their decisions, right? ; )

Lol, why do you always use the blink emoji? I use the Lol, way too much, in that I generally laugh a lot. Right or wrong, I like to laugh and have a good time....do you blink at people after you give your opinions to them? Do you give the ok sign when you blink at folks?
Some of those folks may have been running the auto pen, Trapper and Thompson said there were 5 people by committee that pulled the strings for Joe. Based on everything I hope we find out the truth.
Where did I say I trust what they are saying? I have laid out pretty clear that there are not many options, Fox and other conservative outlets consistently held that Biden was suffering with mental decline. The left said that was a lie and that Biden was sharp, and the best version of himself than ever. Then the debate. The the left turned on Biden and they started to say there was a conspiracy, in both the White House and in the Media.
So, my point here is that either the conservative media, and I guess the GoP, were wrong as the left wrote and said pre debate, or correct all along per the post debate left.
You don't have a lot of choices here. But I am open to hear your opinion.
