California is doing relatively better than average compared to the rest of the country. New cases and hospitalizations have leveled off and are trending downward, and vaccination rates are still rising, with 69% of the state having received at least one dose, and 56% fully vaccinated. Unfortunately, despite 63% of California voters having voted against Trump, California's population is so huge, compared to any other state, that there are still more Trump supporters in California than in any other single state.

The Northern California county I live in is one of our state's red counties, and there is enough anti-vax sentiment that the percentage of fully vaccinated is below both state and national averages, and even lower than some of the red states. The total number of active cases and hospitalizations for covid-19 in my county is currently the highest it has been since the start of the pandemic, though even here the current trend is turning downward.

I dread the prospect that the recall election in California might succeed and result in Larry Elder becoming Governor, as he is an outspoken opponent of vaccine and mask mandates, and with him as Governor, California's current progress against the pandemic will almost certainly be reversed, and my state will start to resemble Florida as far as its pandemic situation.
Update on California: The daily number of new cases is definitely declining now in all but 5 of its 58 counties, and those 5 counties are flat. I fervently hope the recall efforts fail. If Larry Elder becomes Governor, that favorable trend is likely to reverse!
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

That’s good news! Our Delta wave may have started to peak, but kids just went back to school. We’ll have to see.

You guys, this just came up in someone's community posts on youtube. It's not a channel that I follow.

It is with a shattered heart and pure joy that I am sharing this with you all. Bret was the one who wanted me to request prayers 4 days ago when I made the first post about us battling the flu. This evening my Bret is 100% cured and home with the Lord. Please keep me and our children and grandchildren in your prayers.

So the channel is called--The Hillbilly Kitchen - Down Home Country Cooking. There's a woman's photo on the channel so I guess she's the channel owner. Anyway, she looks to be I dunno, mid thirties yet she has grandchildren, so I don't know...old photo I suppose.

Here's the link to the channel itself, it looks like it's all cooking.

Here's my question. Is this what Covid 19 denial looks like? I think it unfortunately is.

I had to read that about three times before "100% cured and home with the Lord" made sense. Yeah, I'm afraid that's what it looks like.

Sorry - am I right in suspecting that this means he is ... dead?

Please excuse my ignorance.

Oh - I see that RI got in there first.

Yes, that's how some believer's say it.

It's not an expression I'm familiar with.

Okay so here are a few of her posts and I am NOT about mocking a grieving widow. We all wanted to know how Covid deniers view things. Here's a couple of pieces for consideration.

Health update: My Bret isn't doing well. The treatment is oxygen and prayers. There is medically nothing else that can be done. Please keep praying for him. Trusting and hoping in the Lord. Thank you and God Bless You All!!!

Please say a prayer for us. Bret and I have been battling the flu for almost 2 weeks. We have all the supplements and medicine from the doctor. We are both still at home but are both getting worse. It is time to call on Almighty God, the Great Physician. Thank you all and God Bless You!!!

Folks, that was NOT flu. How sad and awful is that? How horrible... I'm not going to read or post any more of it.
