Who knows what Trump actually means?
He doesn't mean much of anything. He plays both sides against the middle and the middle is all of us.
Lol. That sums it up.

We, as a people, are deteriorating and no matter who wins this election, we, as a country, are in serious trouble.

Who would you suggest do these repairs? And what repairs do you have in mind?

Your Uncle Ben quote made me think of a few quotes that I was just reading the other day. They are from Douglas Murray's book "The Madness of Crowds: Gender, Race and Identity" (I think Murray is extremely wise). In my opinion, the following is very insightful and thought-provoking - especially as they relate to today's political climate (YMMV).

The collective hysteria of a mob can turn average individuals into monsters.

In the presence of a crowd, individuality and rationality often fade away.

The madness of crowds is fueled by the desire for consensus, even at the expense of truth.

Individuals within a crowd lose their sense of responsibility and succumb to groupthink.

The power of a crowd lies in its ability to silence dissenting voices.

Crowds have the power to elevate or destroy, depending on the narrative they choose to embrace.

The madness of crowds can be seen as a form of mass hysteria.

Collective insanity blinds us to our own irrational behavior.

The madness of crowds is a warning sign of a society on the brink of chaos.

In the presence of a crowd, individuals lose their moral compass.

Crowds are driven by emotion, not reason.

Crowds are easily swept up in waves of hysteria and panic.

The power and influence of crowds should never be underestimated.

5 Key Lessons From The Madness Of Crowds

1. Identity politics: "The Madness of Crowds" explores the impact of identity politics on society, arguing that the increasing focus on individual identity groups has led to the fragmentation and polarization of communities. The book delves into various identity categories, such as race, gender, and sexuality, and analyzes how these have become battlegrounds for cultural conflicts.

2. Cancel culture: Another key lesson in the book is the rise of cancel culture, where individuals or groups who express unpopular opinions or engage in "wrongthink" are publicly shamed, ostracized, or even lose their livelihoods. The author highlights the dangers of this trend, arguing that it stifles free speech, intellectual diversity, and the pursuit of truth.

3. Victimhood culture: "The Madness of Crowds" explores the concept of victimhood culture, where victimization becomes a source of social currency and power. It discusses the aspects of victimhood culture that promote a sense of entitlement, the undermining of personal responsibility, and the devaluation of individual agency.

4. Groupthink and herd mentality: The book examines the psychology behind groupthink and herd mentality, showing how individuals often conform to the beliefs and behaviors of a larger group, even if they may personally disagree. The author argues that this conformity can lead to the uncritical acceptance of false or irrational ideas.

5. The need for tolerance and rational discourse: Lastly, "The Madness of Crowds" emphasizes the importance of tolerance and rational discourse in addressing societal issues. The book argues against the use of emotional reasoning, shaming, and silencing tactics, advocating instead for open dialogue, debate, and respectful engagement with different perspectives. It promotes the idea that respectful disagreement and productive discourse are necessary for a healthy and diverse society.

These hoaxes have extreme influence and significant impact and most of the people who use these tactics (for political reasons) absolutely know that they have extreme impact and influence. They work, and they know that too.
Please cite one clear example of what you call "these hoaxes".
One? Okay but it's hard to pick just one.
Please make it clear who you think carried it out,
Judy Woodruff (PBS)
and for what purpose.
To paint Trump as an evil monster. After all, what kind of human garbage would call Netanyahu and tell him not to do the deal on a cease-fire until after the election because it would help Biden/Harris. Imagine the level of wickedness it takes to put your personal political interest ahead of the horrifying and utterly catastrophic realities that many thousands of human beings face over war.

I'm no Trumpist,
huh. hard to believe given that your parallel ego is a hard core Trump convert and that you referenced a site for your hoax claim that only the most far-gone Trump supporters would find credible.

I want to clarify my remarks on the PBS News special on Monday night about the ongoing cease fire talks in the Middle East. As I said, this was not based on my original reporting; I was referring to reports I had read, in Axios and Reuters, about former President Trump having spoken to the Israeli Prime Minister. In the live TV moment, I repeated the story because I hadn't seen later reporting that both sides denied it. This was a mistake and I apologize for it.

If that was meant to be a hoax, she's not very good at it.

When I think of the madness of crowds I think of 1996 and Rwanda and what led up to it. It started when the President's plane crashed...

Like many modern journalists, seems like she might not be "very good" at understanding what responsible reporting looks like and/or what her role as a reporter actually is.

More elected representatives, and term limits on the Supreme Court justices. Making democracy as accessible as possible - we need more democracy, not less of it.

Trump does seem to thrive on the madness of crowds and even provides a symbiotic relationship to the madness.

As toxic and disgusting as politics has been in the past, it's now far worse and it has caused enormous damage and division to this country - as well as serious damage and deep divisiveness amongst all of the citizens who live in this country (it's demonic in my opinion).
I agree with your above and, I think, even the demonic part. Now me. I also think that Trump himself opened the door to division, unrest, and violence, by modeling it through his speeches. And yet, the Lord keeps putting people in his path that could influence him in positive ways and he continues to reject them, Ceeboo, over and over and over again.

There was an incident just recently that happened within virtual days of his display of dangerous rhetoric that I believe was intended to influence Trump and so far as I know I've seen no sign of his recognizing it. Perhaps that is yet to come but I think not. He simply refuses to learn or respond to the wake up call when it's put right in front of his face.

That's how I see it. I don't expect you or anyone else to agree with me.
