These people are bad ass.

Russian soldiers killed as city recaptured: "Welcome to Ukraine!"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYsDDnI2vtI
They’re bad ass because they have guns?????!!!! Really??? Because Kevin can’t stand guns! There’s no reason the citizens of Ukraine 🇺🇦 should have access to guns. If they would just surrender and give in to the Russians, all the evil death would stop!! Listen to Kevin, he’s really smart, he reads statistics and has read a few good books!! Real estate agents know best! Ukraine is selfish for fighting back. They should just lay down and let Russia have their weapons so Russia can help them live comfortably!! Just like the progressives of this fine country want us to do!!

I wrote exactly nothing about guns or Kevin. The video had exactly nothing to do with guns or Kevin.

A little olanzapine might help to tamp down those hallucinations of yours.

Polish mothers left these for the Ukrainian moms fleeing into Poland with their children. Maybe just for ONCE in the history of this planet we should try letting the hand that rocks the cradle rule the world.

Was it supposed to happen this way? Does anyone think it's a bad idea? I thought WE were supposed to give the jets to Poland then Poland itself was going to give their jets to Ukraine? Am I mistaken? Is this going to be big trouble for us?
Poland said on Tuesday that it was ready to deploy — immediately and free of charge — all their MiG-29 fighter jets to the US Air Force’s Ramstein Air Base in Germany and place them at the disposal of Washington to provide them to Ukraine, according to a statement from the Polish foreign ministry.

Holy cats! Starbucks and COCA COLA are pulling out of Russia!

So with these two companies, McDonald's, Twitter, Visa, Master Card, Google, major oil companies, etc., pulling out don't the Russian citizens know by now that their gov't is LYING to them about the Special Military Operation? I mean, they have GOT to be sensing that something is up over there.

Keeping an eye on the logistical side of things, some Russian troops went into battle with MREs that expired in 2002. There is a lot of anecdotal evidence that Russian troops are raiding markets for food.

Ukrainians have learned that rather than kill the tank, kill the gas truck that enables the tank to move. Russian supply lines are not as robust and well-defended as Western logistical units. Picking off a gas truck requires a lot less firepower.

In WWII, Hitler's tank strategy in warfare was simple: If you could hit the enemy tank before he hit you, you win. So he favored monster tanks, the largest of which was the Tiger. The problem was the Tiger was so heavy it really couldn't maneuver when it got off a road where the ground was infirm. So the Russians would concentrate their firepower on the first and last tank in a column. Once they were taken out, the other tanks were effectively trapped.

Russia is somewhat guilty of the same failure in this war. Commanders are reluctant to get off the main roads. Ukrainians have taken down all street and road signs that could help the Russians find their way. It becomes more difficult to coordinate actions between units that are spread out. Perhaps the worst defeat in Russian history was the Battle of Tannenberg. The Russians used a different railway gauge than the Germans, so no rail support. Ukrainians have effectively sabotaged most of their rail network, so the Russians have virtually no rail support inside Ukraine. In WWI, Russian troops were wandering the German countryside not knowing where they were or where the enemy was. Communications are much better today, but Russians are facing a guerilla enemy with drones and cell phones.

No, I don't think we are looking at a defeat like Tannenberg. But there are similarities with logistics and communication problems.

Well. I'm not as politically stupid as one might have imagined. Right on the money I would say.

"The prospect of fighter jets 'at the disposal of the Government of the United States of America' departing from a U.S./NATO base in Germany to fly into airspace that is contested with Russia over Ukraine raises serious concerns for the entire NATO alliance," Kirby said.

CNN could have at least spelled Ramstein correctly.

Something is wrong with Putin. No, not the obvious. The man cannot breathe.

I know there was a time when his cabinet (or whatever they call it) came down with Covid and Putin isolated. I never heard a report that Putin himself got Covid. Just watch a few minutes or so of this speech. He struggles for breath throughout the entire thing.

See what I'm talking about?
I couldn't stop thinking about how Putin couldn't breathe in the above video and how his face looked. So...I went to find photos of him in 2020 and 2021. Going out on a limb here. His face is noticeably puffy now.

I'm convinced that the man is on steroids.

That could be part of his aggression and seemingly erratic behavior. It makes too much sense to me.

Even a year ago he had visible cheek bones. He has the moon face side effect of someone on Pred.

Look:

See? That's not aging. That's the face of someone on Pred. That would explain a whole LOT of things we're seeing. It makes things even scarier. Not good. Not good at all.

Okay I take it back. I might at least be a strategical idiot. Vindman explains how to get the jets to Ukraine and whole list of other solutions, including warnings. Video is 18 minutes and change. WELL worth the listen!

While he's no Boris Yeltsin, I agree that Putin is definitely looking puffier and not as robust. I wonder how many analysts at the C.I.A. are studying his physiology? Ever since I saw his withering exchange with an intelligence officer...scratch the surface and you saw KGB interrogation and dismissal techniques.

He is a very brutal man, but had been adept at landing on his feet. Until now. He totally miscalculated the risk-to-benefit ratio of this war. The clock is ticking, and it does not favor Putin. As word of 4,000 fatalities trickles back into Russia, as the Army continues to have logistical nightmares, as the people of Russia understand that they are cut off economically and socially from the rest of the world, it is hard to see a scenario where Putin will be victorious.

The downside is that a cornered Putin is a desperate Putin with no moral conscience. If this is being exacerbated by steroids or some other medical treatment, it's alarming.
