Do you even think Hamas is as intolerant and genocidal as Adolf Hitler? They just mercilessly killed 1400 Jews for no other reason than being Jewish. Why do Muslims get a pass on being violently antisemitic in your world view? Germany long ago outlawed antisemitic speech to keep the holocaust from ever happening again. Unfortunately, they only appear to have outlawed it for native Germans and made an exception for Muslim immigrants in the name of cultural diversity and racial sensitivity. Muslims continue to indoctrinate their children in antisemitism right now, in addition to building up armies and nuclear weapons right now for the singular purpose of killing Jews and killing Americans and yet all you can talk about is Adolf Hitler?

There is no doubt that Hamas is a terrible, despotic organization, that overall, harms Palestinians far more than it helps them. But, believe it or not, not all Muslims, and not even all Palestinians, are hellbent on killing Jews and Americans. More importantly, though, there are a lot of innocent Palestinians who merely want to be able to live normal, safe and prosperous lives. They are unfairly treated by both the current government of Israel and by their own leaders (and almost everyone else, for that matter). Genocide of Palestinians is every bit as evil as Hitler's attempted genocide of Jews and other groups he despised. Ultra conservative Jewish leaders who seem determined to destroy and demonize all Palestinians are very nearly as bad as Hitler, as far as I'm concerned!

Besides all that, not all Palestinians are Muslim. A significant proportion of them are Christians or other non-Muslim religions. The vast majority of them don't deserve the deprivation they are forced to endure every day, and it is probably true that no one is less genuinely concerned about substantially helping them improve their lot than Hamas.

I don't believe for even a minute that Jesus Christ would approve of the way Israel treats Palestinians in general. Do you?

I don't agree with Israel treating Palestinians the way Hamas claims they treat them. But Hamas controls the media at gunpoint and I don't believe anything Hamas says. After the way our western media took and ran with the allegation that Israel bombed the hospital and ran with it without verifying anything, I don't trust mainstream western media either. Rashida Talib still claims that Israel bombed the hospital.

I don't think Israel is asking to kill every Palestinian. They're asking to annihilate Hamas. If Hamas hides behind civilians as shields (which is a war crime), than regrettably some civilians will die. I don't see a way of avoiding that and still getting rid of Hamas. Think of it this way, what if Donald Trump were to hide behind civilians to carry out a revolution and reclaim part of the country as a free land for conservatives to work, develop, and inherit. Would you have a problem killing civilians if it means allowing your conservative tax chattel to break off and liberate themselves from your democratic socialist taxes? No you would not. You'd kill anyone necessary to stop the secession and potentially lose your rights to tax and redistribute the wages of working people.

It isn't how Hamas claims. It is how the journalists on the ground claim. It is how the UN has claimed for decades and it is also how Jewish human rights groups within Israel have claimed.

This is a lie. Currently no journalists are allowed in because Israel doesn't want them reporting on what's actually happening. Hamas doesn't control media narratives and doesn't force journalists to write pieces at "gunpoint." This talking point about how we cannot trust the Palestinian death toll because it "comes from Hamas" is complete BS. You're sounding more and more like Joe Biden right now. The fact is these are the same people report death counts over the past decades and were generally proven to be right. When they reported more than 2,000 deaths in 2014 the Israel friendly media said we couldn't believe it because "something something Hamas." But over the years those numbers were confirmed.

The fact is you don't know for a fact how the hospital was bombed. There is misinformation from both sides. For example:

But it is idiotic to fault any media for stating Israel bombed a hospital when it happened during a literal bombing of the city by Israel. When Israel presented their "evidence" that it wasn't them the same media you bemoan quickly reported that it wasn't them. Then they pushed the same narrative you're pushing, blaming Hamas when it fact all they are doing is trusting Israel blindly, as if Israel's propaganda machine is more trustworthy than Hamas.

Hamas isn't hiding behind children, they're underground awaiting a boots on the ground invasion, while the innocent civilians are above ground taking all the fire.

Know what I have been mulling this over the whole time. All of it. I've also been learning about Judaism. All these years of posting online when I criticized that we don't fully understand the Old Testament so I decided to put my money where my critical mouth is and LEARN.

No. I don't believe that Jesus the Christ would approve of ANY of this. Not one single bit of it. Not for a single second.

Jewish folk (excepting Messianic Jews) don't subscribe to any of the teachings attributed to Jesus the Christ in the New Testament. So my guess is that they are somehow justifying this with the eye for an eye, tooth for tooth, etc. but even that is under Old Testament Law and applies to the Hebrew culture doesn't it?

It's kind of confusing.

I tend to think that this has little to nothing to do with their deeply held religious beliefs/philosophies and they just hate Hamas and the Gazans are an expendable part of the package.

Why didn't they just go in there and occupy, then drive out Hamas from within? That wasn't an option? Anyway it does no real good to second guess why Israel is taking the action that it does but I still don't see why, if they were going to formulate a response (they probably already had the plan for that) why that didn't include occupying the territory and flushing Hamas out of there which may have proven to be a futile effort to start with but still...
