No, no one is cheating. I sent you both a link to a very, very long and tedious page of material which sheds light on the different ways to tackle the problem, even though that problem isn't addressed in particular within that article. You could read that article over the course of a month and still be dumbfounded. don't be afraid to look at any of that stuff at this point, it's not cheating.
there is no right answer. at least, i don't think philosophers are going to agree any time soon on one.

Do not mock me...you said that theology, culture, etc. has nothing to do with it. Let me try taking it all out to see what it looks like then. I warn you, do not mock me! First one mocks me, gets it! I'm talking Telestial in a New York minute!
The Problem:
Your white shirt has a pocket, and in that pocket you keep a small Book. A cowardly sniper shoots you down. You wake up in the hospital sometime later to learn that the bullet had wedged itself into the Book you carry in your front pocket, saving your life.
you bear testimony that the book saved your life. The congregation listen intently to your description of the sequence of events and seem uncontroversially to accept your account that the Book saved your life.
begin bringing a small Bible to church, craming it behind the Book in your front pocket.
a sneaky anti-Mormon shoots you down. You wake up in the hospital to find that yet again, the bullet had wedged itself into the Book. So the next Sunday, again, you stand before the congregation and bear testimony that the Book saved your life. But this time there are hushed whispers, concerned looks, turning heads, and shrugging shoulders. They don't seem to be buying it. Why not?
They don't seem to be buying it because...
I have no freaking clue.

(I called you a "little dog" about 7 years ago. I apologize. I've repented. Please stop tormenting me.;-)
I don't know, but I feel a wee bit guilty about fussing in this thread about it. Perhaps these comments should be split to the "Gad drives 2 non-lds nutty" thread?
