I vote yes, as well.

One nice thing about LDSism is that there is an emphasis on music. I started playing piano as a kid. All of my siblings took music lessons of some sort (piano, guitar, saxophone). All good Mormon men know that the guitar is the devil's instrument. Those that choose to play guitar do so at their own risk. Never, never should an electric guitar be played on a boat...that's too much temptation for the destroyer that rides in power upon the face of the waters to the tune of Slayer's Raining Blood.

Nice. I have Reason, but I haven't used it much. I need to start playing around with it more. I have a Boss DR-670 that I use for laying down beats...old school. Nice keyboards.
I need to get me a keyboard. I mostly need something with a nice piano sound (preferably grand, maybe even an upright grand), and some (natural) organ sounds. I was originally looking into a mini-Korg (as I don’t need a full sized keyboard since I will be playing sax a lot of the time while playing the keyboard too), but all it has is synth sounds. Right now, I’m thinking about getting a laptop, and midi keyboard. This way, I should be able to stay fairly on the cheep end with the keyboard, and not be limited in any way in regards to sounds (and also be able to incorporate some sequencers, etc.).
Thoughts? Suggestions?
by the way, here’s some of my junk.

If I had the money, I'd get me a Nord. I have a cheap M-Audio midi controller that I use for recording. The midi/laptop is the most versatile for recording, but I'm not sure about doing it live (I've never tried).

I was actually checking some of these out in a catalogue the studio hombre had last week. I was drooling over the Nord C1 Combo Organ. Definitely out of my price range. I feel justified if I spend about $800 on a laptop, but I can’t find it in me to spend more than $600 on a keyboard. My sax cost me $4500, but I can imagine using it for years to come without it becoming antiquated. Keyboards (to me) are a different matter.
I've never seen anyone try the laptop/midi thing live, but the studio hombre seems to think that it will work (with the ability for sequencing and other stuff that we might be moving towards). I have seen people use laptops live before, but it has usually been a small blues group using it for additional drums/horns (i.e. just playing along to the track with the drummer using an ear-wig for the click).
I think the main thing I like about the laptop/midi option is it will allow me to potentially make a midi recording of my sax, and then harmonize with myself on the keyboard, while playing the actual sax at the same time. It gets me giddy just thinking about it.
PS: Nice junk.
I wish I could say you’re the first guy to tell me that…

We've also got a very nice big person keyboard, but its in the other room and I threw my ankle out running for the train today, so I'm not about to get up off my butt and remind myself what the hell it is.
Also there is a crappy acoustic guitar and a very nice recorder somewhere around here.
