I'm very surprised the Russians didn't do this. But from what I understand about Russia, they didn't care much about their citizens or soldiers. Don't make the mistake of thinking that socialism means a government that cares for its citizens. That's not necessarily true.

So you're all in favor of genocide then? Because that's basically what your saying with "kill them all or don't go at all". Seriously, learn to detach your emotions from arguments like this. The last thing this world needs is a United States of America with absolutely no qualms about killing entire populations simply because we have a bunch of blood thirsty jackasses in charge that can't figure out that sometimes a bigger stick isn't what is needed for the job at hand.

Like I said, a better idea would be to not get ourselves involved in wars needlessly, and if we do go into a war then we do it with the right amount of force required to do the job. Another great idea would be to plan ahead for what we need for after the main fighting is over (like we completely forgot to do with Iraq).

Honestly, our country doesn't show much loyalty for it's own soldiers in the first place, Ajax. Beyond what's granted in the contract they sign, the best they can hope for if they stay until retirement is a check from the VA once a month for half the pay of their grade at the time they leave and medical benefits that really aren't much better then a cheap corporate HMO.

I can name quite a few wars and minor skirmishes that were effectively won through the use of Mercenary forces. Go look up the American Revolutionary War, Ajax. We hired German Mercs to help us fight the British.

In fact, when you get down to basics, any volunteer force that takes pay in exchange for fighting is technically a "mercenary" force, which would mean that we have the largest Merc force in the entire world, only they have official government sanctioning and access to much better gear and intelligence then your average merc company.

It's not unconscionable at all. They make sure you are well aware of what it is you're signing up for before hand, so if you join and don't understand then it's a miracle you managed to slip through MEPS in the first place.

Depending on the specific part of the Germany army, most likely the Germans would declare Liddice rules and exterminate entire villages out of spite for the actions of a handfull of people. Are you seriously suggesting that we should lower ourselves down to that level of conduct, Ajax? I seriously hope not, because that's the sort of level of stupid I'd expect out of Drippy LaDouche....

By the way, the "Liddice Rules" tactics didn't do a damned thing to curb attacks against the Gemrans by partisan fighters. In fact, they only made those attacks more frequent and more vicious.

Actually the USSR did that in Afghanistan quite a few times. Go learn yourself some history and read up on the Russian occupation of Afghanistan, Ajax. Then come back and try to tell me that the heavy handed "“F” the civilians" tactics you endorse actually work.
