Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Shuts Down Ex-Trump Aide Sebastian Gorka

Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Monday fired back at former Donald Trump aide Sebastian Gorka for calling her “an insult to intelligent and empathic humans everywhere.”

Gorka attacked Ocasio-Cortez, the youngest woman ever elected to Congress, after she noted in a tweet on Sunday that migrants seeking refugee status don’t deserve to be treated like criminals at the U.S. border. She cited Jews fleeing Nazi Germany and families escaping Rwanda as examples of other groups who weren’t criminals for wanting asylum.

The comparison set off some critics, including Gorka, who called Ocasio-Cortez’s reference to genocides “disgraceful.”

But that only revved up Ocasio-Cortez. She said Gorka’s apparent support of white supremacists got him forced out of the Trump administration. “Pretty sure we’re on the right side of history if you’re my opposition,” she tweeted.

You were forced out of the Trump Admin for saying white supremacists were “not the problem” days before Neo-Nazis in Charlottesville killed 3 people.

This is not about atrocity. It’s about how we get there.

Gorka left the White House in August 2017 after questions over his ties to Nazi sympathizers and far-right Hungarian political groups. He also had described Islam as an inherently violent religion.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) also took issue with Ocasio-Cortez’s border comment, and she clapped back sharply at him and other critics as well.

What if instead of sending 5k troops to the border, we had sent 5k caseworkers to review + process visa applications?

In addition to averting moral crisis, it also would‘ve saved enormous amt of resources. But we don’t talk about the financial recklessness of GOP admins, do we?

Of course not. It wasn't ok when Democrats were dancing with the Communists because they were only a half step away from being Socialists themselves, and it's not ok that the Republicans are getting in bed with autocratic nationalists because, well, there you go.

I think he's insinuating that spending $300k on an undergrad degree in Economics is probably not a great investment, especially when you tout you graduated from BU and went to work in a taqueria. Granted, she's been elected to Congress and will be able to parlay her success into some book deals, speaking engagements, and whatever else so, in her case, she's probably figured out the economics of government service at the federal level.

She graduated in 2011 from Boston University with a degree in economics and international relations (according to her Facebook page).

Which means her having a shallow understanding of economics is worthy of being up in arms and not worthy of getting the "pass" EA would like to give her...likely only being given because she is young, or brown, or a woman.....or a Democrat.
