I wonder how they view vehicle insurance and seat belt laws.

I wonder why you participate in conversations that you do not understand. And I wonder why you say things that are deliberately obnoxious. If you have a point, make it. If you are just here to be an annoying moderator that nobody can put on ignore, then say that and acknowledge that. If you just want me to tell you to “F” off so you can have a reason to move the threads and feel important, then “F” off. If you want there to be cogent conversations then either get out of the way or get smarter.
If you seriously cannot fathom the uniqueness of the mandates and you expect these business owners to equate them to seat belt laws and insurance, then you should probably not join this conversation. Consider more basic levels of discourse and information.

Ah. More victim role play, from you.
If you have a case to make against the comparison, then make it. Otherwise, I’m not sure that anyone needs you to throw yet another tantrum.

Interesting piece by a reporter for the National Post. Just as in the case of our Jan. 6 insurrection, militaristic extremists appear to be using the Ottawa protest as a cover for more serious anti-government activities. https://theline.substack.com/p/dispatch ... ront-sloly

Whoa! uh, Ottawa is in trouble.Sending protesters to the parking lot was actually the city's idea; it had directed some trucks there earlier in the protest. After the city had moved an encampment in Confederation Park, some of the people there, as well as supplies, vehicles, and a shack, were relocated to the parking lot at RCGT Park. The largest police enforcement action to date, a raid to confiscate fuel, was conducted at this site, too.
I agree with his summary that he is sounding alarmist.
Populists are not a threat to the establishment. Citizens are not a threat. Organized and unified populists are clearly forming and, like the author described, it can be very pleasant, clean and friendly - until it ain't.
Maybe you are right, Res. And maybe I am right. And maybe there is no right or wrong from where we sit, just the facts to watch and consume.

Not sure Ottowa is in trouble so much as Trudeau and Ford. Haven’t read the news today. I guess we’ll see.

We are all breathlessly waiting to see if you can comprehend facts yet Binger. So far you have not been overall encouraging in that regard....Binger wrote: ↑Fri Feb 11, 2022 9:01 pmRes Ipsa wrote: ↑Fri Feb 11, 2022 8:51 pmInteresting piece by a reporter for the National Post. Re: Now THAT is an Insurrection
Looks like the police are clearing the Ambassador Bridge. There have been court orders granting injunctions to end the blockade. I ain't no lawyer, so I have no idea what that really means. I have seen media comparisons of the injunction in Ottawa (no honking) and at the bridge, but I can't interpret it all.
Trudeau and Ford appear to be cashing in some chips to get this resolved. Political chips when cashed can have some gains and some losses. Who really knows how this will effect their net worth or future elections? Certainly not me.
As for the news.... dang. I have no idea what that even means any more.
